After a minor car wreck (hubby hit a deer), I checked the manufacturer's recommendations on replacing carseats. I had Scenaras and Cosco recommends not to reuse them after any wreck--even minor ones and even if children weren't in the seats at the time of the wreck.
So we went looking for new ones. After some thinking about it and reading around, Sunshine Kids Radians fit the bill. I was just starting a childcare job for a family, and not being able to properly fit a 3rd carseat in the car was a sore spot. So the slimness of the radians was a big selling point. We finally selected the 80SL model.
So far they have been great! The belts are much easier to deal with than the Scenaras were. The seats seem to be more comfortable for the kids. The only real challenge that we have run into is that the belt is harder to get through the narrow path in the back.
And best of all, the two radians fit comfortably in the back with a properly installed Graco Snugride! Woohoo!

Awesome! How'd the vehicle install go? Other than difficult due to narrowness of the pathway. In there nice and snug? Less than 1" movement at the belt path? Got 'em tethered?
Do you have both ff or one ff and one rf? You 'recently' mentioned turning dd forward, right?
I have a love/hate relationship with my Radians. hehe Love them because of the higher harnessing limits, both rear and forward facing. Love them because of the slim design and that was ESPECIALLY needed at the time of purchase. But not thrilled with my installs. LATCh is fine, but not seat belt installs. And I only have 2 LATCh spots. Um, yeah, greatly limits my seat positioning versatility. That cramps my style. Like my furniture, I like to move my seats from time to time hehe Call me weird.
But anywho....enough of my rambling...
Yay for you and Radians!! Glad that worked for you. So, insurance covered your seat replacement?

The middle seat is a bit looser than the other one. I should probably go and see if I can make the middle belt any tighter
DD and DS are both FF now. I feel kind of guilty about DS FF, but RF was driving us crazy. He saw DD FF and kept screaming and wanting to climb into her seat and bracing his legs against the back seat.
He's been FF since February.
Yes, the insurance did pay us for the seats. It was only $80 since Scenaras are about $40 each, but at least it was something.

That's awesome! I don't know what a radian or a scenaras is lol(well I know its a carseat but never heard of the brand lol) will have to go google, 2 younger ones are in safety 1st bought at sams club and my 6yr old is in a graco booster seat bought at walmart, but bulkiness is a huge problem with carseats so narrow is great

Oh sceneras is a cosco, and the radian does look a lot slimmer but too pricey for me $200 lol I guess I have to stick with my bulky safety 1st alpha and omega ones which cost me $100 a piece at sams club

I love our radians - both the boys have one, I love the higher weight limits and that they last 10 yrs instead of just 5, and that they are slim -perfect for multiple kids. I am glad you are liking yours!
We might try a Scenera when dd outgrows her snugride bec a 3rd radian is not in the budget yet.

I have a love hate relationship with ours as well. We have one XLT that is currently being used by Joshua ff - even though he could be rf. Rear facing issues in Sienna mini van have made me not love Radians (and the SJKP repsonse to those issues). BUt like T said, the benefits are higher harness heights, slim fit etc.
