View Full Version : Fertility seems to be returning finally!
Or gearing up for it anyway. Ok, we are not TTC (hubby doesn't want anymore kiddilos) but we haven't been over cautious either [whatoops] I have been having lots of cervical mucus lately though. Some that has resembled EWCM and the rest of the time it's the slippery kind. I don't actually think I've ovulated yet though I can't know for sure as I haven't been taking my temps. But I've been feeling that period crampy type of feeling in my abdomen for the last few days but I don't actually think she's going to come anytime soon but I guess we'll see what happens. This is the longest I've gone without PPAF. Lydia will be 18months this week and we are still feeding a lot. We bd'd a couple of days before I noticed the EWCM but since I'm not sure I've ovulated I'm not getting too excited. That was about 2 weeks ago. When AF returned after having Micah (he was 15months) I got EWCM and then 5 days later AF came. Then 4 weeks after AF I ovulated and 2 weeks after that I found out I was pregnant with Lydia. So I don't know if my body would do the same thing it did last time but I know my body and it doesn't normally produce EWCM unless I'm going to get my period soon! I'm rambling again:roll: Don't know why I'm posting this LOL, kinda excited to have AF return but kinda not! So I don't really know if I should be expecting AF or take a pg test. I guess the chances of getting pregnant before AF comes is slim right? Hmmm.....I'm rambling again LOL. Will shut up now!
ETA: I should say that I doubt I'm pregnant, but I also doubt AF will return anytime soon. I think maybe my body is just gearing up for my cycles returning. I should start taking my temps though, need to get me a thermometer.
BlessedMommy 04-03-2011, 02:49 PM I would suggest breaking out the thermometer, then you can definitively figure out if/when ovulation occurs.
At the stage that you are at postpartum, it is pretty likely to ovulate and have a full length LP.
My cycles returned at 19.5 months PP and 14 months PP and I ovulated and had a pretty good LP both times. My LP the first time was 11 days and my LP the second time was 10 days.

Yikes! I didn't know that, about the further postpartum you are the more likely you are to ovulate! Better buy myself a thermometer eh?
What are the odds that I did ovulate 2 weeks ago? I had EWCM and then if I remember correctly had a few dry days and then have gone back to feeling really wet down below (sorry TMI) actually more like lubricated (even more TMI, sorry lol) and when I wipe it's transparent slippery CM. I suppose it does resemble EWCM but doesn't stretch as far as some of the CM I've had in the past, still does stretch though, maybe an inch. Hmmm....I'm confused lol.
BlessedMommy 04-03-2011, 03:28 PM If it went dry temporarily and went back to being slippery, my guess is that your body is maybe gearing up to ovulate. It can take multiple attempts at ovulation for your body to be successful.
After I moved my son to his own bed at a year old and stopped nursing during the night, my CM started ramping up, but it took like 6 weeks to confirm that I had ovulated. I got AF about 10 days later.
I wrote about my last cycle that I had a couple bits of EWCM and didn't know if I was going to ovulate at all. I had a patch that *finally* seemed like the "real thing" as far as my ovulatory CM goes, but I still wasn't sure... ahem... sure enough, we popped up PG from that cycle. ::snort:: I'm watching you, Eva! ;)

Haha! [loveyou]
I have been crampy for about 4 days now but no signs of AF:???: If she doesn't show by the weekend then I'll POAS, cuz well ya never know;)
plaid 04-05-2011, 12:32 PM I charted about 4 patches of ew before I finally o'd. It felt like my body was gearing up for awhile. It was kind of frustrating charting everyday with nothing happening, but it was cool when it finally happened to see. Interested to see what happens for you. :-D
well AF arrived today:) I'm thinking that I only had a 5 or 6 day LP as i only had that many dry days before she showed up today, which is exactly what happened when my cycles returned with Micah. So, i still need to buy a thermometer so i can start charting:D
:snaps fingers: I can't help but be sliiiightly disappointed that you won't be joining us on the pg board, but I know you guys are tta. :) big hugs, eva!

Well ya never know, maybe i'll be joining you next month;) I usually only have 1 period and then I'm pg again, so unless we are really ruthless in the tta area, then we might get a surprise;) Hubby is not opposed to it so we shall see:)
BlessedMommy 04-12-2011, 06:37 PM Yep, get that thermometer gal!
I'm charting to TTA too, just started cycle #11 PP. My cycles returned in April of 2010, so almost exactly a year since my period came back postpartum.
I'll be glad to chat with you about any charting questions. It gets a little lonely on this board sometimes. ;)

Ok, so I haven't bought a thermometer yet, and it's been 6 weeks since AF[whatwacko] If my body is following the pattern that it did last time then I should either have started AF in the last few days or she'll come in the next few days. Wish now that I'd bought a thermometer haha. CM was close to EW for more than a week. So not sure what's going on but I guess time will tell LOL.
Hhhhhmmmm... ;)
LOL. Don't get too excited though as we've been quite militant with the ol' condoms. haha. I'd be highly suprised if I was pregnant but I suppose you never know. I think if AF doesn't come by next weekend then I'll test just incase.
Hmmm....4 days later and still no sign of AF:???: Coming up to week 7 without her....yikes! I'm normally a 28 day gal, but I know that my cycles could be all over the place since we are still nursing. I think I'll give it another week and then test if AF still isn't here. I honestly don't see how we could be pg as we've been very cautious, but I dunno, I guess we'll see. I have had some pg-like symptoms, but I suppose they could be taken as AF symptoms as well. Either way somethings happening as I've been a right moody woman lately LOL! Will keep this thread updated.
and here she is! Af came last night just a few hours after i posted above haha.
BlessedMommy 05-27-2011, 01:35 PM Time to break out the thermometer, girl! ;)

I know! I really need to buy one lol. Then I could definitely know what was going on.
melinda 05-27-2011, 03:51 PM I am to lazy to temp lol well I find it too much work to temp and I get up a million times during the night to pee and my temps were always all over the place and could never do it around the same time so I gave up lol, but are you a cervix checker? its a sure way of knowing if you ovulated after you get the hang of it, I know when I am about to ovulate, when the big O day, and when my menstrual cycle is about to happen, all by the change and feel of your cervix, the position its in and cervical mucus, I know when to protect (because I dont wont to conceive) and when its okay not too, just a thought :)

Awwww... :snaps fingers: and I was so hoping we could be preggers together! ;)
melloyellochelle 05-27-2011, 05:37 PM That was a roller coaster of a thread to read and get caught up on... I thought for a few seconds mayber we had an announcement... then... nah! :)
