"'Awesome, it's the end of the world': Doomsday campers travel the country preaching the Apocalypse...on May 21"

This has been in the newspapers here today, I know some of you are american, some not, wondered what people's thoughts are on it.... I personally don't think its biblical at all as it says in Matthew 24: 36 -51 and Mark 13:33-32
that the end of time will come as a thief in the night, we do not know when He will come again....

I agree with you. Many date setters have come and gone and probably hurt a lot of people who fell for their claims, not to forget to mention that news media tends to lump us all in there and we get further mocked for expecting Christ's return (as He said we'd be).

And too bad people don't normally get excited about the gospel and tour countries to preach the gospel. ("the gospel" should be in caps the way I'm saying it in my head..)

NOT justifying the crazy crackpot caravan, but we should know when to expect Him, the only ones not aware will be the wicked, it will be obvious to anyone "in the know" when we get close enough to the End.

1 Thessalonians 5
1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

Thank you for pointing us back to Scripture. I love that in the midst of human predictions, theories, and potential chaos believers can stand firmly on truth.

I believe we should always be looking up and ready for the coming of the Lord and I also feel that we will feel the excitement in our hearts when the time comes, but I don't think you should go to the extreme and say the end of the world is happening this yr or something lol but many like them have come and gone because their special date passed and nothing happened, kind of sad how so many get decieved though
