For those of you who had some sort of routine, what did it look like for your babies at about 7 to 9 mths? My 7 mth old dd wakes usually 6:30-7:00 am, 1st nap about 9, for 2nd nap goes down anywhere from 12 to 12:30ish, catnap about 5pm and bed at 8pm. I've read stuff about them taking a nap too late and it affecting bedtime, but she's doing good with it. Did most of yours who took a late catnap outgrow it around 8 or 9 mths? Also, about how long were they staying awake at a stretch at this age? Thanks!

Gosh! That was so long ago. I was better with scheduling with Daniel than I am with Rebekah so...
At 7mos Daniel used to wake up at 6AM and go down for a morning nap around 8AM-10AM and then 1PM-3PM and he went to bed at 6PM. He decided that schedule himself and I just adjusted to it.
Wish I could help you more. Best of luck and will be praying that you both get a schedule that works well for both of you! ~Kerri

Hello, Justice is almost 9 mos. His schedule is very similar to yours, but a little different. He wakes up the same time yours does, nap from 9-10:30 up till nap at 2-3:30, in bed between 7:30-7:45. He used to do the 5 o'clock nap, but cut that out at 7 mos. It really doesn't matter what their schedule looks like as long as there is one and they are happy and healthy. If that schedule works then keep it. I let Justice be my guide and this is what works for him.

I'm telling you, the BEST book on sleep is HEalthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. By Weissbluth, I think, something like that. Its just a good reference of what your child needs at what age, how to solve problems, how to drop naps, etc. I love that book!

My daughter is 71/2months and she wakes around 6:00-7:00 usually naps around 9:00. Depending on when she wakes up she naps again at around 1:00 or 2:00. If she takes a good long nap this 2nd time, she stay awake until her 7:00-7:30 bedtime. If she only sleeps 45min-1hr, I uusally put her down again at 4:30-5:00. I just wake her up by 5:45 if she takes this 3rd nap. She is very flexible though and I can keep her up later if we are out to dinner, etc. Your schedule soudns right on. They will drop a nap when ready. Did you have a question about it or just wondering if others are doing the same? Sounds like you're doing great!

This would be my perfect day  . David wakes up at 8:00 am, goes for a nap at 10:00 and sleeps until 12. I feed him at 12 and then he naps at 2:00 until 4. I feed him at 4 and he is up until about 7 when I feed him again. He goes down at about 8:00.
However, not all my days are perfect. I run my 3 year old to playschool and groceries and all that other mom stuff, so that means that sometimes we aren't home for his naps. David will sleep in the van but won't stay sleeping when we get home unless he's really really tired. If he misses a nap during the day, then I give him a nap after his 4:00 feeding, I'll usually put him down around 5 or so and he will sleep for about an hour or so. Also, on Sundays, he doesn't nap at church, so then I put him down for a longer nap in the afternoon as well as after his 4:00 feeding. I try to keep the feedings pretty scheduled and then the naps do what they will. If I need some time to do something, then I just put him down to play in his crib. He might fall asleep, he might not, but he's not getting into what he shouldn't.
