Hello friends.... Each day has something new to deal with, doesn't it?

I can finally say that we've succeeded with Natalia's bed time... it's been great these last 2 nights... she goes to her bed with daddy, he prays with her, sings with her and then she even says "Daddy can go downstairs" [clapping][clapping] How awesome is that? She stays in her bedroom (lights off and everything) right away, hubby discovered that "the issue" was that she didn't want her door closed... that was it!!! I guess she felt "left out" or "disciplined" or something when we closed the door of her room... so, we are very happy about her staying in her bed.... we DO HAVE to close the door of her bedroom as soon as she falls asleep though because she sleeps with a humidifier in her room... which takes me to the next issue...

TONSILS:

Natalia has been snoring more and more when sleeping, I just thought it was congested nose or something and started using the humidifier at night.... that always made things better and she slept much more peacefully... but even with the humidifier on the snoring has intensified (it still helps a lot though) but as soon as the humidifier is out of water (we need a bigger one) her snoring gets REALLY HORRIBLE... It's like a monster in her bedroom.... she even stops breathing very often only to be startled by a horrible gasp for air and a very loud snore.... (which was waking her up at night and making her want to go to our bed)... This has been going on for a while now... and her tonsils seemed really, really big to me but I just thought the humidifier would "solve the problem", it's been about a month since I saw her tonsils be so big and they have only gotten worse... She has no fever and the pediatrician said yesterday that there is no infection it's just big tonsils but she sent us to the ear and nose specialist ... ugh! I have to wait at least two weeks to see him... we took her to the chiropractor right away yesterday and he did an adjustment but even he told us to take her to the specialist, the ped thinks she will need her tonsils removed... I am sick to think about it... is there ANY OF YOU that has successfully dealt with anything like this in a more natural way?.... TIA for any help, advice and prayers ladies!

....

Now.. the hair pulling... Natalia's started to pull her hair off!!! either if she has her hair up or down, it doesn't matter, she is always pulling her hair... and I've even started to find little "bunches" of hair everywhere, why is this!!!??? is she going nuts?? I don't get it!!!!

TIA!

Paloma.

Glad you are having sleeping success! :-D Don't know about the hair pulling - never had that sorry - just a 3 year old hiding in a corner cutting their own hair with scissors. [whatwacko] Parenting is an adventure every day - just like marriage! [claploud]

sleep apnea?? they snore with sleep apnea actually thats one of the first signs, my son has really large tonsils he snores when he gets strep or something because large tonsils and then swollen makes them huge, we have been told by every doctor that looks in his mouth that he has large tonsils but so does his daddy so we have never felt for any concern but he ONLY snores when he has a really bad sore throat....but the ent should know....and dont know about hair pulling either, my 3yr old used to do that to his little brother but that stopped when he turned 1yr old and he got a haircut lol so no hair to pull lol with 4 boys and really short hair they *try* to pull the others hair while wrestling but get no wheres lol

I knew someone whose Dd had the hair pulling issue. She was just little and was pulling out patches of her hair. I am not sure if they ever figured out why, she could not talk well yet. They ended up shaving her head, it did solve the problem and she now has beautiful long dark hair and the habit was broken. Sorry I am not more help with why. Is she doing it when she is off by herself or when you are near? Is she trying to get attention?

Glad bedtime is going so well! :-D

I'm sorry that Natalia is having tonsil problems.

From what I've heard, taking them out should be a last resort. I've not researched all the alternatives, but here are a few pages for you, if you are still deciding what to do.

Good luck with your decision!

It's always rough as a parent to deal with health problems in our little ones.
