View Full Version : Pregnant?
Kristyau 01-15-2011, 06:27 AM Not ttc, but dh didn't use anything a couple days before I ovulated (I ovulated almost a week earlier than 'normal').
I ovulated 7 days ago and I'm getting slight cramping in my lower abdomen, peeing frequently, ocassional dizzy spells (usually get these in first trimester), headaches, vibrating/ fluttery sensations in uterus area, heaviness feeling in uterus area, cervix is sensitive, and alot more cm coming out than usual.
I feel like I'm pregnant, but I don't want to worry hubby in case it's nothing. What's the earliest you can test for pregnancy?
Five days before AF with First Response Early Results. I've used those over the years and they've always been reliable.
tripper 01-15-2011, 10:25 AM What do they usually recommend?... 10-12 DPO? I'm not sure anymore... If I get to 14 DPO I usually test, but not before. But that's just 'cause it's always been a BFN and I don't want to waste tests! lol

I agree with tripper, its from 10-14dpo basically, I get a positive at 9dpo but my hcg are always high and they think twins lol but if your anything like me you will start taking a test everyday now lol, good luck :)
buttercup_97140 01-15-2011, 12:55 PM Go to the dollar tree and but 10 test...cheaper than one regular test and they can read as low as 25mcg which is close to or the same as First response. The line may be very light so wait 5-10 min before reading, but I have used them for the last 3 or 4 pregnancies and NEVER got a false reading.....and they are a dollar!!!!
Let us know what happens,
Amber
melinda 01-15-2011, 09:06 PM That's what I did/do, dollar general have some that are a dollar and I would buy like $10 to $15 worth (which is like 10 to 15 test lol ;) ) just because I am a poas addict lol actually I still have several test under my bathroom sink, for just in case lol
ChamomileFriend 01-15-2011, 09:27 PM Yep. I use the cheapo tests from the 99-cent store, too. I think the earliest I got a positive was 10 days after I ovulated -not 100% sure, I tested too early and got 2 negatives before my 3rd test was positive, but sometimes it does take 14 days or so.
Kristyau 01-15-2011, 11:37 PM Thanks girls. I'm doing my big shopping tomorrow, so will grab a couple tests then. We don't have cheap tests here in Australia (that I know of). I'll get the First Response ones. Can get a pack of 3 from the supermarket for under $10 normally.
Will let you know how I go.
PianoMama 01-16-2011, 02:03 AM i've tried the FRER tests you mentioned and i can't do them before 14dpo. just fyi....
plaid 01-16-2011, 12:10 PM This time I had one cheap internet test and used it at 9dpo in the middle of the afternoon and got a BFN. [whatwacko] I had been spotting for days and sure I must not be pregnant then 11dpo in the evening I was feeling sick. So first thing 12dpo I took a FRER and the second line showed up right away. It depends on when baby implants. The poas site is fun to read. :-D

pasloma 01-16-2011, 04:56 PM I only know when my period is due... but I never know when I ovulate or not or anything ( LOL! ) I am very ignorant about all those things! I just know that the 2 times I've been pregnant I just told hubby: "Don't you think it's a good time to have a baby?" and there you go! We bd'd and ... I got pregnant right away... I actually almost "knew" I had conceived right then and there.... then I just tested 5 days before my period with the First Response test (like Jen said) and ... it was correct... so.... that's my own experience.

I love that site! :)
Kristyau 01-17-2011, 11:01 PM Seen the sight before. I liked it too.
I found a HPT at the supermarket that claims to have sensitivity of only 10! It came in a pack of 3. It's Forelife extra.
Going to do my first test tomorrow morning, if BFN then I'll wait a few more days. I still have 8 days until AF is due. If I'm not pregnant then I will have to see the dr anyway because I've been off my food and feeling nauseus, dizzy, crampy. I'm constipated one day and running to the loo the next (I had all these symptoms with my other pregs too). I'm also smelling things alot stronger than the rest of the family and it's making me feel sick!
Hopefully I have good news - although not sure how I would break it to hubby. He is so adament about not having anymore kids yet, if ever. But last time I got pregnant (Sept 2010 - m/c) before I m/c after the initial shock he thanked God for the blessing and then started talking about life with 5 kids (in a good way).
Anyway, I could be getting ahead of myself... I might just be sick.[whatwacko]
melloyellochelle 01-18-2011, 10:46 AM praying for you today. I know all will go well either way. Keep us posted gal!
melinda 01-18-2011, 03:32 PM just checking on you, wondering how you been :)
rachel 01-18-2011, 03:35 PM I hope when I wake up and check on tomorrow it'll be... good news, if God pleases to add to your family right now. Great way to start the day:mrgreen:.
Kristyau 01-18-2011, 05:28 PM BFN! :( I still have 7 days until AF though. So will do another test in a few days.
I can add sore nipples to the list now too[whatwacko]
melloyellochelle 01-18-2011, 06:12 PM Mmmmm... definitely test again soon though. You've got lots going on there, lady.
Kristyau 01-23-2011, 04:23 PM Well I did the second test in the packet 4 days ago and still definite BFN. Did the third (and last) test in the packet early this morning (2am) and looked at it after 7 minutes still BFN. So I left it in my drawer, picked it up this morning (6am) and the absolute faintest positive line. It is so faint I keep checking in case I'm imagining it. When I checked the first two tests a few hours after doing them there was not even a shadow of a positive, so not sure if that means this one is a positive, or if this is the only test that is showing an evaporation line???
Anyway, may be TMI but last night after dh and I Dd'd he mentioned that I had a tiny amount of blood and therefore am probably getting AF. I woke this morning with cramping and was fully expecting to see AF when I went to the loo - but nothing. This happens everytime I'm pregnant. But I may just be reading into everything too:???:
I'm not actually due for AF for 2 or 3 days. So I may have to just try not to think about it and test again after AF is due if it doesn't arrive!
plaid 01-24-2011, 12:09 AM Oh, the not knowing is torture isn't it. (hug) Keep us posted. [loveflag]
I sure hope you can get some concrete confirmation soon! I think not knowing is worse than anything! ::hugs::
Kristyau 01-24-2011, 04:03 PM It's a pain how not knowing whether or not your pregnant when you need to organise things. I'm meant to be booking flights today - domestic interstate flight for next month to visit my mum, and small 4 seater plane to Hayley's hospital appointments in two weeks. Due to past high risk pregnancies, particularly the small airplane can be dangerous for tiny unborn bubs due to unpressurized cabins (can cause m/c).
Going to buy some different tests today and try tomorrow (AF due date).
Can add low backache to the list now.
leona 01-25-2011, 08:10 AM aww i hope you find out soon.
Kristyau 01-25-2011, 03:38 PM I'm due for AF today, so if it doesn't come then I'll test tomorrow morning - FMU.
Will let you know how I go...
Thinking of you today, gal. How are you?
Kristyau 01-26-2011, 04:25 PM Getting frustrated. AF due yesterday and never came. FMU test this morning - BFN!
I used a First Response Early, which is what people seem to recommend. Still really tired and dizzy spells, shaking spells, cramping, stuffy nose, emotional, off of food...
Reneemomto5 01-26-2011, 07:07 PM Hi Kristy, I have been following your story. Hugs, this is weighing heavily on you sweetie. In australia can you contact your dr. with your symptoms if they are really concerning you and than also have them run a pregnancy test in your dr's office? Maybe they can help you figure this out if it isn't pregnancy related and you seem to really not be feeling yourself and you are late? Just thinking...
Hugs hope all is figured out soon, as I saw you have plans that need to be taken care of soon and this needs to tell you the direction you need to take those plans.
Kristyau 01-27-2011, 12:57 AM Thanks so much everyone. AF started late this morning and is just like any other normal AF, just later than expected. I am a little disappointed, but I had a good friend pray with me about it yesterday (particularly that I wouldn't be too upset if I'm not pregnant) and I'm actually doing alot better than I thought I would. I clearly heard God tell me last year that I am going to give birth to another boy, and yesterday I felt God tell me to be patient. So I've decided to just be happy with where I am and leave it all up to God. I'm also going to use this time to get fitter and lose more weight so that I am healthier for my family and for a future pregnancy. I've lost 5 kgs and more importantly 5.5 cms around my waist - so I'm quarter way to a healthy weight.[claploud]
leona 01-27-2011, 05:38 AM aww iam sorry to hear that ((hugs)) but at the same time iam glad you feel like god is giving you that peace/reasurrance about it and good on you with the weight loss , that's fantastic:-D
melloyellochelle 01-27-2011, 12:07 PM [hug]
Praise the Lord that He is good and keeps His promises. I know your marriage and your family will be blessed by your obedience to God and your husband. Praying for you.
ChamomileFriend 01-27-2011, 07:49 PM I am sorry about AF, but so glad God is giving you peace and patience for it and wow congrats on losing all that weight! It must feel really good :)
