Mckenna is only 4 months old, since she hit 3 months she is drinking formula like is a running tap...
she fusses till i give her a bottle even if shes just had one 1/2 ago..

How much does your 4 month eat. usually she was 4 oz every 2 hrs/. well this afternoon she had 4oz at 4pm, 4:30, 5;15 and 5;50pm!!! thats 16oz in 2 hrs!! she tends to do this through out the day at times. last night she was every hr with 4oz from 12midnight to 4pm...

I think its too much what is wrong?

Could it be that she just wants the comfort of sucking although she's not hungry?? I really don't know what else to tell you except I would ask a doctor if she is really eating way more than she should. She could be going through a growth spurt or something too?

I would think it could be a growth spurt like Cheese mentioned, but check with your ped to be sure.
Does she have a binky? That can satisfy the sucking urge for babies when they are not hungry. If she spits that out and cries then I would think she is genuinely hungry.

once she found her thumb, she does not want the sucky, but she will find her thumb then suck for a few seconds and then take it out and cry.

That's a lot of formula, even for a growth spurt. Maybe try giving her a little bit more at each feeding (like 5oz or so) and see that helps get her back on track. I'm trying to recall the little "formula" for about how much to offer at each feeding... 2.5oz of formula, per pound of baby per day, divided by the number of feedings = approximately how much to give at each feeding. She may also just be one of those babies who always needs something in her mouth; ds was the same way! If she isn't happy with her thumb or her binky, maybe let he suck on the empty bottle after a feeding for a few minutes?

Perhaps you need to see about changing formulas? I know people do that a lot when there are allergies, but I also had a friend that changed her son at about that age because he didn't seem satisfied with the brand (similac) that she was using. She switched to Enfamil and he started drinking 6oz every 4-5 hours and has thrived (weight gain, etc.). Maybe ask your ped about that too.

This formula is the nutragiman formula for babies with allergies. We tried EverYTHING else even soy and she fussed and cryed when feeding her and was very colic.. this was the only thing that worked. it cost the most too.
so not sure about switching

Have you tried adding a little rice cereal to her bottle? Some babies are ready for that much sooner than most peds "recommend". Or, like someone else metioned, try increasing the amount of formula to 5-6 oz. I think as long as she's not fussing, gassy or sick and seems satisfied, then maybe it is a growth spurt and she needs the extra feedings.

We atarted giving dd cereal mixed with formula with a spoon at about 4 mo. She was doing exactly the same thing. What a difference the cereal made. It kept her from getting so hungry and she was so much happier. We have somew friends who adopted and their ped. told them to give teir dd cereal at about 4 mo. because she was so little. Ask your doc. but some babies are ready for it early.

This may be a far fetched idea, but when my DD was teething she would want to nurse 24/7. It seemed to help her, but made mommy go through the ceiling. She could be teething or as someone mentioned she could need some cereal.

I was thinking she might be teething, as she has the red cheeks sometimes and drools alot..lol

I would suggest feeding her some single grain baby cereal. I started with a late afternoon feedingaround 4 months and added breakfast, then lunch. My DD continued to drink only 4 oz at a time, but not so frequently.
