View Full Version : Not Feeling Pregnant?

I don't know what it is but the last few weeks I just haven't felt as pregnant as before. Mind you I am still just as hormonal and weepy, but physically I feel great. No nausea, not as sleepy as I was, no aches and pains. Not as bloated. Not really looking very pregnant right now, just sort of fatter. I was having flutters of movement a lot but the last week or two haven't really felt it but a couple of times.
I don't know..am I the only one? I am 16 weeks right now according to my calculations, OB thinks I am 15 weeks, still, I should feel something. Right?
I never "felt" pregnant at all with my first, no morning sickness or anything. So I don't know why I feel so strange about feeling good this time around.

I would definitely not worry. This is the best time of pregnancy. I would just enjoy feeling good if I were you. I am in the not so comfortable stage at nearly 37 weeks and it was really nice back when I was in my 2nd trimester. I remember that time being the best. I didn't feel much movement until 18 weeks with Justice, sooner with Titus, but it was still around 16 weeks and only occasionally at that point.

Lucky dog you... I'm still in the nauseating stage... but what does make me ultimately feel better is hearing the baby's heartbeat. Got that done today :) Priceless for feeling pregnant, regardless of symptoms ;)

My sickness went away at week 16 exactly with number one...never did with number two...threw up til' the bitter end! UGh! I'm sure you're just turnin' a corner, but if you're inner voice is nagging you....mommy knows best and pester your doc to hear the heartbeat this week for assurance!

I really haven't been nauseated since about week 9-10. But even after that I was exhausted constantly and had the backache, headache stuff going on too. And was having a lot of fluttering movement that I remembered from my first pregnancy as those first baby "kicks".

I guess what worries me is that with this pregnancy I have felt so VERY pregnant the whole time, and yes, I am worried because it was twins and I have already lost one. So,,,,nag the doc I will indeed. I have an appointment with her this Friday, so hopefully we can hear a good strong heartbeat and then settle on a date for the big ultrasound to confirm our guess that this is a girl.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I needed those today.

I never felt pregnant either; no morning sickness or anything, just really sore boobies.

It doesn't hurt to bug the doctor, so just to settle your heart you can make an appointment to check on baby and feel at peace. Will be praying for your little one to do well and comfort for mommy!

I am glad you are getting in to hear you babies heartbeat. I have times when I don't feel pg also. I am basicly over ms and all that is left is a headache, bloat and feeling/looking fat. I agree that once you hear the heartbeat you will feel better. Remember that no matter what God is incontrol of this little babies life...take comfort in that. I will be praying for you also while you wait for your apointment. keep us updated on how you are doing/feeling.

I would say it's probably normal to feel better when you started. And flutters/movement can come and go. Maybe baby was in a good position for a while for feeling "her" but now "she" moved and is hiding. "She" is still pretty tiny right now, even at 15-16 weeks.
I wouldn't worry unless you start to have spotting/bleeding and/or cramping. And really the Lord doesn't like worrying, so place "her" in his hands and remember no matter what, he loves this baby, whether "she" is here on earth of with him!!
Because my placenta is anterior I didn't feel kicks regularly with Noah (my 2nd pg) until after 20 weeks or so, even with feeling him here and there before that.

I pray for peace for you, and that you are able to hear the heartbeat this week!! That would be a huge blessing!

Does your doc have an ultrasound machine in the office? We found out Noah was a boy at 16w3d...so you never know!!! :-D

Blessing,
Amber

I have to go to a local MRI center to do ultrasounds because my doc doesn't have a machine in office. She is still fairly new to this area and is on her own (not in a group of any kind) so it is cheaper for me that way.
I am hoping that she sets me up for the big one in the next couple of weeks. My hubby is getting anxious about painting the baby's room and I'm ready to start buying stuff for "her" too.
Thanks for reminding me that this is all normal. Hormones are still raging (obviously) and I am worrying more than I should about all kinds of stuff. I'll be praying that I can start leaving things in God's hands and really leaving them there (not taking them back 10 seconds later!).

This is my third pregnancy and I don't "feel" pregnant like I did with the other two at all. The nausea is finally starting to kick in as well as being very tired but it didn' t hit me all at once like the first two. I have some of the achiness, but I don't have the sore chest etc like I did the first 2 times.

As a rule of thumb, if you "lose" your symptoms suddenly within the first 10 weeks then you should head to the doctor asap. But it looks like you are way past that now and I understand it is quite normal to begin losing some of the other symptoms by this time.

With my first (a boy) most discomfort of any sort left me around 10-12 weeks but with my second (a girl) I was incredibly sick and unwell for the entire pregnancy except for around weeks 21-26 :)
