We finally weaned DS1 from his pacifier about 3 months ago, but now he's started to grind his teeth. I felt horrible taking his paci away but it started to look like it was changing the shape of his mouth...and now I feel like I helped cause a whole other issue!

My niece would grind her teeth when she was a kid (still does) and her back teeth are really messed up (very small in size). Is this something that can even be dealt with at this age? He's almost three.

Payton went through a phase where he would do that but each time he would start we would remind him to stop, tried not making TO big of a deal out of it, KWIM? He hasn't done this in quite some time now. Hopefully your ds is just going through a similar phase?!

Thanks Jesse. Did Payton do this while he was awake or did you gently remind him while he's still asleep? Israel only does it when asleep so I don't know if he hears me (like maybe a subconscious thing).... kwim?

He did a little bit of both. If he was sleeping where I could hear him doing this I would nudge him and he'd quit, for awhile at least. Then eventually he just quit doing it all together. I hope it's just a phase for Israel and doesn't cause any problems long-term.

No advice but just wanted to say it's good to see you post! I was looking at your ticker and can't believe your baby boy is already 6 months!
