Ruth, I thought you might be able to help me with this! We buy GF Bisquick and make dumplings (for chicken and dumplings) with it, but they're runny (and not even really dumplings). I don't think they were as runny when DH first made them as they have been lately. Is there something we can use to help thicken or keep them from getting runny? My mom always used regular Bisquick and I always loved her chicken and dumplings growing up, and DS loves them also but we'd rather do them GF. We're so new to GF cooking but I know there are some "tips," I think I've seen somewhere for things like this. :???:

my son is gluten free and I have been wanting to try the bisquik but haven't got around to it yet. I found this review for the mix on the blog adventures of a Gluten free mom and it gave some tips on using the mix, things she changed, anyway it might help?

Hopes this helps
Thank you so much!! We are going to try what she says... I think it's our answer!
are you guys dairy free too? I found Pamelas baking mix makes great biscuits etc. but I was so disappointed as it does contain milk and my son is also casein free!
We are not. I have a dairy sensitivity, and baby girl may, too, but it's not something we have to stay completely away from, thankfully! We'll have to try Pamela's.
We found a great GF cookbook called Easy Gluten Free Baking. Have tried 2 recipes from it (blueberry muffins and pancakes) and they were both really good.... if you like finding new GF recipe sources... we hope to try some of the breads next.

I'm sorry, AB, but GF bread type stuff is regretfully not my forte. I hope that you figure out an answer and when you do, let me know, so that I can benefit from the info too.
What brand of bisquick type stuff are you using?

No problem. DH does the cooking, and I think he is making them tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it goes. It's Betty Crocker.

Using the info from this link that Jayne posted worked great:
