First of all.. wow! This is the longest af has held off for me.. Ellie is almost 7 months old and I just got my first ppaf! That's amazing really.. my first af after Brooke was 3 months pp! It was later with the others but never this late. Anyway, this is the worst period I've ever had by far! I usually have a really light flow but this is ridiculous!! I'm hoping it will get better.. maybe its this bad because its the first one after so long?? Did anyone notice that with theirs? First ppaf being extra bad but improving there after? Please SOMEONE tell me thats what happened to them! I can't bear to think my periods will stay this bad from now on.. that'd really stink! :???:

That does stink Ashlee. My first thought was that it could be bc of how long it took to get your first af. I dont have that experience myself so I dont know really, but that was my first thought. I hope it doesnt last too long for you.

When you say "bad" Ashlee what do you mean?
I have always had horribly heavy periods my entire life. 7 days of heavy flow, in high school I remember even bleeding through my pants, how embarrassing! I am one of those heavy period people though.
But after my periods returned after baby was born they were worse for a few months, that I had to change clothes for sure after my period returned. I remember those times vividly taking clothing with me (at times I still do till this day just in case).
It should even out. It could just be a few months. But if not I know fibroids can be of concern (big concern with me) but waaaaay to early to even let that be of concern for you okay!!! Honest Ashlee don't let it concern you! It may just be this first month return of your period, and maybe last for another time or two.
hugs
I'm somewhat dealing with the same thing here, Ashlee. I just got what *appears* to be my first AF and it isn't even very heavy and my body is just in agony over here. This stinks. :( reminds me of when I was a pre-teen going through my first couple of periods. OUch! Also, Wyatt will be nine months in November, and this is the longest I've ever gone without AF, mine usually come back 3 months pp too. Weird, huh? I sure hope you can get some relief!
If I recall, mine were pretty bad - then started to even out - when I had a weird cycle of being almost a week late then a period would show up pretty heavy - yuck I know - but hang in there. Hopefully, it will even out for you. Try some raspberry leaf tea (decaf)?:-D

Thank you ladies! :D
Yeah Renee.. I mean bad as in heavy! I usually have a pretty light flow but man... I'm soaking the regular pads in just a couple hours.. I need some SUPER's or something lol. PTL I don't have cramps.. that would be much worse!
I'm glad to hear it tapered off for you ladies.. at least I know there's hope now, lol.

My first PPAF after Emma was around 9 months PP and it was SOOOO bad that I literally bled for 18 days straight, and it was SO heavy at times that I went through tampons in about 5 mn. Come to find out that my hormones were so messed up (I have PCOS so that may have been why) that I was on my way to bleeding to death. Dh and I took Em on a road trip to South Dakota and I did not want to go to the hospital in SD so I waited unitl we made it back home to go and I was told I was just this side of a blood transfusion....
BUT, I had to take two birth control pills a day for about 2 weeks to get the bleeding to stop, then I had AF again not long after that and it was MUCH better and lighter. I got preggo with Noah after that, but it did get better. I would watch it. If it's super bad you might want to talk to your doc about it because your hormones might be out of whack and you might need help!
Now when I got AF back after Mak, it was around 13 months PP and wasn't bad at all. I only had a few before I got pg again, but I don't remember them being bad.
Blessings,
Amber

Thank you Amber. I was actually concerned the first day because it was just so heavy for me. It did taper off though and didnt last longer then a regular period. PTl for that! Hopefully next month wont be as bad. :-D
