View Full Version : Question for those who chart their cycles

So, as I mentioned in another thread, my cycles are irregular anything from 21-28 days. However, never in my menstruating life have I ever gone longer than 28 days.
The question I have now, is what could be going on with me this cycle?
I started getting period-like cramps, and am slightly constipated (unusual for me around AF - normally I have the runs!) since Sunday (almost 3 days ago). I am now 29 days and not a single sign of AF. I do seem to be getting more mucous discharge (clear/ dries white) and my cervix feels tightly closed and spongy.
I did a pregnancy test this morning and it came up negative.
However, there is a chance of pregnancy because we haven't been exactly 'careful', and twice this month we didn't use anything - both times around ovulation. I'm a bit confused though because with me normally pregnancy tests come up ositive before AF is even due.
Thoughts anyone???

Test again in a week? It could just be a hormonal glitch from stress or something, but maybe... especially considering your timing last month... I won't be surprised at all if you get a positive.

If you don't know exactly when you ovulated, you could have indeed caught the eggie and it may just be too early for a BFP. Or too early for AF.

I did a preg test this afternoon but only showed such a faint positive, I'm not sure if I'm even seeing it correctly. As my wee would have been pretty diluted from all the water I've been drinking, I probably shouldn't have tested at that time. So I am going to do another test first wee tomorrow morning and will let you know.
Half freaking out, half excited[whatwacko]. Please pray I sleep tonight.[praying]

Thanks ladies. I managed to get to sleep - and had some pretty wierd dreams about preg tests[whatwacko]
I kept waking every hour busting for the loo, but wanted to hold it till morning. Eventually I gave in at 2:30am because I thought I mat wee myself. Another extremely faint positive. So I'm still not ready to say it's positive yet, I'm worried maybe that brand has an evaporation line????
Anyway, am going to go to the Chemist and ask for their most reliable brand and try again in a few days - if I don't go crazy in the meantime!!!!

I got a test from the Chemist this arvo and waited an entire 20 minutes[halo] then I tested! The line was faint, but most definitely there this time!
I'm have terrified half excited. Had a good cry on DH shoulder, and said I wish I only felt excited.
We prayed and were honest with God saying we feel a bit annoyed He chooses now to bless us again, and to please help us get excited about this, and thankyou for believing us worthy of yet another child...

Please pray I have an easy peasy pregnancy and get to full term this time![praying]

Thanks girls. I woke up at midnight with horrible cramping and lots of bright red blood. I haven't been able to sleep much since as I'm in too much pain. I haven't had any clotting yet, but plenty of blood. I took a test this morning and came up negative! I didn't think the HCG would go away that quickly???
Don't know if I wasn't preg in the first place, or I'm miscarrying???
I feel so bad now for those negative thoughts I had about the preg...[sadashamed]

My obstetrician sent me for an emergency ultrasound as he was concerned I may have an ectopic pregnancy.
Sonographer (and report) said it looks like I am/was pregnant but too early to find a gestastional sac by ultrasound. The good news is it looks like no ectopic, the bad news is he said there is alot of blood and unlikely that this pregnancy will progress. He was so lovely and said he was very sorry but it looks like I'm miscarrying.
The ob is going to do some HCG levels next week just to double check it is a miscarraige.
I'm feeling pretty numb at the moment. A lovely friend of mine has taken my older kids to her house so I can have a sleep when Hayley does. Hubby is coming home early from work now too.
A small part of me is hoping for a miracle - that maybe I'm just having a big bleed and the baby will survive - that being said, when I went to the loo before the ultrasound I passed a clot about the size of a five cent coin - so that may have been my baby.
