How far along where you when you started feeling the need to nest? I feel like I am already having that need, Although I am so tired I am not cleaning the house like I want, but I literally dream about it. I also have such an urge to buy a "big" baby item that I don't think anyone will buy like my travel system stroller or a dresser/changing table. there is no need for me to get it all yet and I know this in my brain, but there is such an urge in my heart to start getting things ready. so my question is, is it normal to be feeling like "nesting' this early in the scheme of things?

I think it's normal... with Katherine, i wanted to do everything, clean, shop, decorate, etc... Then when I was actually 8-9 months pregnant, I didn't want to do a thing except sleep. Needless to say the nursery didn't get decorated until like 3 months after she was born LOL. and i am just now finishing my homemade baby quilt. actually i mostly finished it today but i ran out of the thread... i needed just a LITTLE more... ugh. :/ anyhow. Yeah. normal. LOL

I think it's possible at any time. I was so fortunate that Shawn likes to get things ready and out of the way. I wanted to get a big purchase item early also. We had the travel system, crib and dresser/changing table purchased by the time I was 3m pg. We waited until after Christmas to start on his room. As soon as we started I had everything ready within a couple weeks. I have diapers prefolded, clothes folded or hung up, everything's ready. I want to go back and refold everything! I visit his room at least a couple times a day just to look around at everything.
I think you get so excited thinking about this new little one that will join you, you just can't wait to get started.

Oh good, I'm so glad I'm normal. I began the nesting early too. I've organized closets, got all the baby stuff out and hung just so I can go look at it. I know I'll need to wash it all but it's fun to go visit for now. I've rearranged drawers and rooms, moved stuff around in the house from the upstairs to the downstairs and from the downstairs to the upstairs. My DH is a trooper

Neal told me he doesn't want to buy anything until we know the sex! I told him that the travel system and other things are unisex...he says if it is a boy he wants it blue or girl, pink...he doesn't get it. I am being drove crazy by this urge and Neal just doesn't get it. I have been having intense dreams...very realistic ya know. Anyways last night I had a dream Neal bought me a dyson vaccum...I am so bumbed now that I am awake. just another thing to add to my nesting desires I guess. I don't know if I can ward off these feelings till we find out the sex...and then even when we go to the u/s and the babies legs are crossed...more waiting  I can't take it anymore! :D
Tee Hee! I slept through my pregnancy with em but, I'm craving clean up with this one so, I think you're good to go sweety=). I've been having MASSIVE dreams about nursing! I can not wait!!!!!! Though the weird thing is that in the dreams I'm nursing em as she is now  with the milk meant for the baby- weird. I went shopping at the children's place the other day (freeport is a shopping outlet town so, the children's place here has AMAZING sales on off season clothes). I went in to buy a winter jacket for next winter for em (between the money off and the coupon I paid $11 as aposed to the original $50!!!!) I asked dh if I could buy something for the baby- They had halloween costumes on sale so I bought a little cow costume which would be good for either gender (I was soooo thrilled). see if dh, will allow you to go buy something small and gender nutral like that- it might curb some of the desire to buy something big  Nice to see a thread by you- *smooches* -ren

My husband is the nester...was the first time, is this time.
I do have to say that, even when I am not pregnant, he is the nester. He has always been more neat than me, has more initiative to clean than me and is more organized than me. Good thing he is around or we may never get anything done
