View Full Version : Good Potty Training books? wesleysmom0604 02-08-2007, 04:30 PM I was thinking of getting Wesley some books about Potty Traning. Any suggestions? mamallama 02-08-2007, 04:44 PM We got The Potty Book for Girls for Gracie. It's really cute! They have one for boys too: http://www.amazon.com/Potty-Book-Alyssa-Satin-Capucilli/dp/0764152327 lovemykids 02-08-2007, 07:29 PM My dd liked the potty training elmo book and also the potty traing elmo hes cute. Kensbev 02-10-2007, 02:05 PM Now, keep in mind that I haven't actually started trying with my dd. I originally bought "Toilet Traing in Less Than a Day" by Azrin and Foxx. After I read it, I thought that none of those techniques would work with my daughter. So, then I bought "Potty Training 1-2-3" by Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo. I didn't read all of it, just the first few chapters, where they outlined how to tell if your child is ready. I could totally see that she wasn't ready, so I never read further. Now that I think she is ready, I can't find the silly book, lol! So, I'm going to actually try some of the techniques on the first book. Amazingly enough, I can see them working now! A friend of mine swears by the Azrin/Foxx book. She says that all four of her kids were pretty much trained by the end of a day, with some accidents for a couple of weeks. But she's got an 18mo who she says potty trained in less than a day, so I figure that maybe my 2yo can do it, too, lol! JoyLynn 02-10-2007, 02:22 PM Hi Julie!! It's so good to see you back here. I've been missing you and wondering how you've been. [lovesmile] So, a book... Oh, my goodness, this is taking me back. My kids loved the book called "I Have To Go" (Sesame Stree book). It was sooooo cute!! All of little Grover's friends would ask him to come play with them and he's say, "I can't right now. I have to go potty!" He's running to the potty and at the end he runs up to his mommy and says, "Mommy, I have to go potty!" It ends with her helping him with his clothes and getting him on the potty chair. I tell ya, we wore that book out!! LOL!! [rofl] Here's a link. This is what the book looks like. :D http://www.amazon.com/Have-Sesame-Street-Toddler-Books/dp/0394860519?tag=dogpile-20 Have fun! I am eager to get this ball rolling! mary 02-15-2007, 06:16 PM "Toilet Training in a Day"--not sure of the author. Great book!! It works. My daughter at 2 was toilet trained in 6 hours. And that's not exaggerating. :D SoapLady 02-20-2007, 09:30 AM We were briefly potty training. (I stopped the process because ds requires some very involved occupational therapy for eating issues and it was just too much for me to do everything at once.) I checked out the Elmo video from the library--Elmo's Potty Time. He went nuts over it! He started talking about the potty all the time, wanting to sit on it, and he didn't want to go in his diapers any more. I checked out quite a few books for him as well, but they just didn't have the same effect as the video. I definitely plan to use it when we start Round 2 of potty training! |
