How about "Little Visits With God" by Concordia Publishing House. Their short stories with moral lessons and a Bible passage to start out. We have the copyright 1957 edition, hardcover. :-D

We have been using this one, at first I thought it was a bit short, but it does have a very good lesson, a scripture to go with it and then a cool fact about the amazing world that God made. Now I realize it has to be quick to keep my five year olds attention. :-D

Thanks ladies for the replies. I ordered a book called Gotta Have God specifically for boys 6-9 year olds from Amazon.com. They also have series for 2-5 year olds and 10-12 year olds. The series have specific ones for girls too in the same age brackets.
