I have an 18 mos. old son and I would like for some suggestions on activities/things you do to teach your toddlers about God and Jesus. We play music, pray, talk about things, but I was wondering if there were other things I could do now to help Justice learn about our Savior and Lord. I am excited about starting some new actitivities with him as he gets older and understands more.

Just talk to them about everything. Let them know God made them and all they see. Praise Him for all we have, even that favorite snuggly. Point out the blue sky, flowers, snowflakes...all wonders nof His creation..you too, are a wonder of His creation and He loves you so very much :)

That kind of thing.

The Christian book stores have some really great craft books for toddlers that have bible stories/themes. We also used a felt board to tell bible stories.

A great series of movies is called BabyFaith. There are I think 5 out so far, God Made Music, God Made Me, God Made Animals, God Made Babies and God Made Families. We love these and they keep our dd's attention (who is almost 2 yo) and they teach Bible stories from a babies perspective.

Dh likes to read some Bible passages to him at bedtime, and its so cute: he'll lay there totally mesmerized and when dh stops reading ds will say "More." I think at this age before they can really comprehend, a great beginning is always model the grace and forgiveness that God shows us every day.

Wes loves Veggie Tales so we read books and watch videos. They always have a biblical message. Also, taking them to church regulary is importnat. Wes is 2 1/2 now and loves church. He gets excited when we pull in the parking lot! Our church has a wonderful Childrens program. We also pray and read bible stories with him before bed. Also, just mentioning things he can see that God made, like the trees, the dog, people, the snow. This helps him assocaite God in a tangible way because he can touch these things. I think the best thing we can do is also just live our lives in a Godly way and set a example. Make sure he sees you praying, reading your bible, or just talking to or about God in your everyday life.

My dd LOVED babyfaith when she was younger. I also have a toddler bible that has stories you can read to them at their level. We also pray before bedtime and I encourage the kids to pray at meal time. We also sing bible songs and listen to bible song cd's.
