I don't know about any of you, but in our home, often times Bill wonders whether or not Maddy actually "loves" him...and I thought that this was a really beautiful list...and I wanted to share it with you all...even if you know that you child loves you, I thought that it was a really sweet reminder of how our children love us. :)

And here's a link to the area where I found it...they said a lot of really awesome things that I wanted to share!

1. Your newborn stares into your eyes — he's actually working hard to memorize your face. He doesn't understand anything else about the world, but he knows you're important.

2. Your baby thinks about you even when you're not around. Between 8 and 12 months old, he'll start to scrunch his face and look around when you leave the room — and he'll smile when you return.

3. Your toddler throws wicked tantrums. Nope, those screaming fits don't mean he's stopped loving you. He wouldn't be so hurt and angry if he didn't trust you so deeply.

4. Your toddler runs to you for comfort when he falls down or feels sad. Kids this age may not truly understand the meaning of "I love you," but their actions speak louder than words.

5. Your preschooler gives you a flower picked from the garden, a finger-painted heart, a sparkly rock, or another gift.

6. Your preschooler wants your approval. He'll start to be more cooperative around the house, and he'll look for chances to impress. "Look at me!" will become a catchphrase.

7. Your grade-schooler trusts you with secrets, like his first crush or his most embarrassing moment. You're his confidante, even if he shies away from your hugs in public.

Such a cute list and so true too. :)

My DH is anxiously awaiting when Katherine first says "dada" since she's been saying "mama" for about 4 months now (hasn't said anything else, but she DOES call for me all the time.) It's obviously she knows who her daddy is because if he walks in the door and he's out of her sight, but she can hear his voice, she looks around for him and gets upset that she can't see him, because he's been gone all day LOL! And she is all smiley when she finally sees him even if she doesn't call him by name yet :-)

Maddy is FINALLY saying "dada" every once in a while now...and my goodness, Bill loves to hear it! Maddy is the same way with hearing him...it's so cute...but mama is the most common thing she says!

I'm glad that you like it! I just thought that it was really sweet!

My boys both said dada way before mama. My youngest says a lot of words but still doesn't say mama  LOL, I try not to take it too personally. He does say... well it sounds like he says... well he kind of makes the same sounds after I say it a lot of times... I love you... but not to anyone else but me and I have to say it first, but that's okay, it sounds like I love you! LOL
