View Full Version : Nursing while pregnant.....yikes!!!
For those of you that have nursed while you were pregnant, what did you do for the pain in your nipples when baby was nursing. Jeepers it's sore. Is there anything to ease the pain or is it just one of those things that's "Tough, just suck it up and deal with it" sort of thing? Everytime she latches on, I'm like "Ooo, ouch, eek, ouchiwawa", you catch my drift. Anyway, any help on that would be great!

I am still nursing Dd..and yeah, they get sore, especially now that I really only produce "some" colostrum. I just kept on....for me it seemed that the soreness lessened as Dd nursed...so the first latch was sore, but after a few moments it wasn't bad. Now, it's fine when she latches, but if she nurses for a long time, it get sore.
If you have any Lansinoh ointment, that may help a bit, but it's probably more hormonal than anything, so honestly, it's probably more of a "grin and bear it!"
I think it's awesome that you are still nursing, so many people want to tell you to stop because it's bad for the new baby, or you can miscarry....but really, it's totally natural!
I always had low supply, but just to warn you that your supply may go waaaay down or even stop except for a few drops soon....but that doesn't mean you have to stop nursing...I didn't! LOL
I hope your soreness goes away soon!! ((hugs))

 OHHH, I never would have thought about the sore nips during pregger nursing! I have nothing to offer but, simpathy since I'm soar now and reading this made me CRINGE! I hope an answer or courage present themselves;) -ren
Amber, you are probably right. It's probably just a "grin and bear it" thing. It's not like cracked nipples or anything, it's like sort of inside if that makes sense.....maybe TMI. I bet it is a hormonal thing and either I will get accustomed to it, or it will just gradually go away. Oh well. Thanks for your help!
