What's your daily routine like? How do you get house work done and keep your children occupied and happy. I have a 21 month old who really doesn't like to play by himself and a 4 month old that I'm nursing.

Well, mine arent under 2 anymore, but it helped to just ignore the housework :D No seriously, I totally got them on the same nap schedule and did chores when they were sleeping. I also put the baby in a sling and then had the older one help me with simple chores. And then there is also baby einstien

Ahh, yes, Baby Einstein. There is also VeggieTales (affectionately referred to as "Bob" at our house) and Elmo.

LOL I totally agree with everything you said. I did the 2 under two thing for 6 months. #1 just turned 2 two weeks ago. Housework fell by the wayside as at one time I figured that I spent 6-8 of my twelve waking hours feeding or cleaning up from feeding people.

Another thing I did was completely toddler proof DS#1's room and at times I put him in there and he plays by himself, this was a learned skill that started with just putting him in his crib with books and toys. Now that he is out of the crib he does play nicely in his room but only if I shut the door. It is hard at first to enforce play by yourself time but it is a valuable skill for our little ones to have.

Oh and I wouldn't survive with out a little Curious George every day.

I've had two babies under 2 twice. The first thing I had to do was "let go" For my own sanity and the kids well-being, I had to realize that everything was not going to get done all the time and find a way to be content with that.

Vacuuming and mopping got done with the oldest on the sofa with a toy that she/he wasn't aloud to play with often, so that interest was fresh; and the infant would be in the arm not holding the vacuum  ... trust me, arm workouts and weight lifting helps!

Cooking was done while the infant was in the swing/bouncer. The toddler would get to play with unbreakable dishes :P ... lots of fun! Remember the ear plugs! Bath time for toddler was done with infant alongside in the bouncer. Bath time for infant done with toddler sleeping. Although it killed me to miss a nap... I got a lot of cleaning, bill paying, and other responsibilities done while both were napping or bedtime.

Groceries best with infant in a carrier and toddler in the cart... mall, use carrier and stroller. Bring plenty of healthy snacks when making an outing and one unhealthy snack as reward bribe!

Hope I helped!!! :D

ours are 6 years, 16 months, and 4.5 months. i do as much as possible when they are asleep. except for today, it's snowy/icy and I don't want to do a thing!
