For the past few days I have had an accelerated heart rate. At some points it is even quite distracting to me. It even happened last night as I went to bed. All I was doing was lying down... why would the heart rate be faster then? It's been fast again today.

One of the things I'm wondering about deals with me being able to exercise. I work out at Curves 3x per week (on good weeks). Doc said to continue working out throughout the pregnancy, unless it became excessively uncomfortable or something hurt. He said that Curves was organized in such a way that they would be able to "prescribe" pregnancy modifications for me to follow. Well, instead of working out at a normal 80% rate, Curves modifications take that down to 50%. My first few times I felt like I was dragging, but one of the workers said I was doing exactly what I needed to do... and even that I could slow down more.

I have not gone to exercise since last Wednesday, due to this heart rate... How am I supposed to have such a low heart rate while exercising if my resting rate is sky high? :?

From what I have read, it is completely normal to have an accelerated heart rate during pregnancy. Something about the blood volume being doubled while we are pregnant. Sheesh... If it's normal, I don't remember having it with my first. This time around, wow.

Any ideas?

Yes, your heartrate does go up during pg. I've noticed at times my heartrate while resting is quite rapid. When you're exercising just monitor how you're feeling and how your heart is doing. If it feels like too much, slow down or quit for a while.

I also have an added little speed up in my heart rate. Ventricular Tachycardia runs in our family and I have little spells where my heart rate speeds up along with the already accelerated heartrate from pg.

If it seems like it's in excess, see if it could be this also. But I have a feeling that it's just normal pg. It was hard for me to get used to in the beginning, but after a while, it became normal.

I had the same issue with heart palpatations. I was given a monitor to wear for a couple days. PTL everything turned out ok.

Just take it easy & keep track of your fluctuations. Then let your doc know

Same here, it sounds normal but check with your doctor.
