Ok, I have a few covers that aren't wool, but was thinking, instead of using that spray on stuff, that I don't care for b/c of the smell, if I mixed a lanolizing solution, as if I were doing wool covers, do you ladies know if it would work on other material covers? say proraps? They're not worn out, but they're not "mint" either, LOL>

waddaya think?

I don't think it would work on PUL. It only works for wool because wool is naturally moisture repellent.

I have never heard of anything to revive PUL. You can try stripping your covers to remove any detergent buildup.

Lanolin is kind of expensive. If it were me, I'd just invest in a few new covers (or Fuzzi Bunz, you can stuff your prefolds in there) for nighttime use and use the older ones during the day when they aren't worn as long.

As far as lanolin being expensive, I have 4 of the large tubes from when I had the babes, so I could have a kid every year for the rest of my life and have enough of that.

I just made them a few new covers yesterday and will be making them some more this weekend.

I'll post pics when I get the chance.

I think lanolin would work on fleece, but it won't help PUL any. PUL is much like plain ole plastic..ya think lanolin would really stick to that?

yeah, you got a point there, LOL

I'll probably try it on the fleece, it won't hurt, right?

I've done a light coat on fleece before and have heard of others doing it. Works well enough. I just don't dig fleece covers so well. 'Course, I had cheaper fleece, that may have had something to do with it. Then I had kids who couldn't do fleece consistently. Like...once every 10 diaper changes was all they could handle, they'd get really red and raw. So, fleece just wasn't my thing, didn't bother seeing how well lanolizing would really work with it. But I *hear* it works quite well :D

I'll try it. I love my fleece covers. Love em' love em' love em'

if I leave Bri in them all night, he turns red too. The covers I've made are fleece outer, pul inner and they can wear them all the time.
