Okay ladies, I know we have a little bit of time before we really have to decide but my dh and I have been chatting about names. We are open to other names but we really want something that will start with a "D" and flows nicely with Abigail and Nathan. My dh is not a person who likes weird names...they need to be traditional, standard that kind of thing...David, Daniel, Deborah, oh, and we're looking for a girl's name...we have boys names picked out...but we are struggling with a girl's name. So far I have come up with Dannah (which is too weird for dh), Deborah, Diane, Dorothy...I think that is all that we liked...I was wondering if you ladies would shoot me some names weird or not and I can run them by dh!

Thanks for any help Melanie

Maybe a little out there but I like the name Danika!

Also Devon, Denise, Danita, Donovan, Danielle

Dainyah (my daughter's name, means the Lord is my judge, some consider it weird)! (same Hebrew root as Dana, Dannah, Danielle, Dinelle, Danelle)

Then, there is Diane, Diana, Debra, Deborah, Dixie, Dawn, Dawna, Donna, Denise, Drema (pronounced Dream-uh, my cousin's name)

Out of curiosity, why are going with the letter D?

Out of curiosity, why are going with the letter D?

My dh and I have been known as the M&Ms since we got married...we even had purple and silver M&Ms at our wedding as favors...anyway, we have an "A" and and "N" for children...if we could find a "D" name we like our families initials would be M - A - N - D - M - S and we think that would just be neat! A true M&M family! :D

Thanks for all the ideas so far...we'll see what DH thinks of them!

Some of the D names I like were already mentioned - Danielle (or Daniela), Danae; I also like Daphne, Dalilah, and Deirdre.

So far I ran by all your suggestions and he said we could add Danae and Danita to our consideration list. I was very surprised by this, maybe you girls will come up with something he really likes! I think I discount names that he'd like but overthink whether he'd like them  !

I like Danielle too but we used that for Abi's middle name and he thinks that is too much of a repeat!

Friends of ours named their dd "Dawn Joy" after the scripture "joy comes in the morning". I thought that was pretty neat. I don't really have any other suggestions that the others haven't already mentioned.

Has Dena been mentioned yet? I have a cousin Dena and a cousin Devin (others spell it Devon and say it the same way, but I know Devon more as a male name Deh-von, but anywho..).

That's very creative...the M&M family hehe

I can't think of any other D names that haven't been mentioned, sorry. If I come up with any I'll post back.

I was talking to dh this morning and he was really excited about all the name you ladies came up with so far...he thought it was a great idea to ask...anyway, he thought maybe you'd mention some boys names too just in case you come up with one he likes better then David! If ya don't mind...

So far we have David, Daniel, Davis, Darius, Donovon, and Dwight

Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Aww Daisy, that just sounds so sweet :) That completely did NOT come to mind hehe I missed Delaney too (dh's uncle has a girl Delaney ... ok, that sounded really weird .. like, why didn't I just say cousin..LOL but it was actually his dd's girl, given up for adoption, so, while it's his uncles dd, she was 'not' his dd ok, I'll shut up now LOL)

i'm partial to Danielle  !
I also like Dariah, Denika, Dominique (g) or Darius, Demetri, Darian, Dominic, Drew (b)
There's always Dorcas. Nice meaning, but an unfortunate pronunciation in English.
