View Full Version : Daily Promises
Madre 05-16-2010, 07:58 PM When I was growing up my mom had a little box of Bible promises and you could pick one each day. I was thinking that it would be such a blessing and an encouragement if we would post a promise (or a few) a day. Or how about a verse that reminds us of who we are in Christ or how much He loves us or what He has prepared for us?
I know life can be difficult and we can do a pretty good job of beating up on ourselves and we sometimes need our vision brightened. But we are here to remind each other that "it will be worth it all when we see Jesus". So here is one of my favorites:
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1Jo 3:2)
Madre 05-17-2010, 02:21 PM A promise from the Psalms:
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. (Ps 32:7-8 )
Madre 05-19-2010, 07:40 AM A promise from Romans:
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Ro 8:38-39)
Madre 05-20-2010, 04:39 PM An encouragement from Ephesians:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (Eph 1:3-6)
Madre 05-21-2010, 08:51 AM A blessing from Ruth:
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. (Ru 2:12)
Madre 05-23-2010, 08:50 AM From Zechariah:
Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee; (Zec 9:12)
Madre 05-24-2010, 02:56 PM From 1 Peter:
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; (1 Pe. 2:9)
Madre 05-31-2010, 08:34 AM From 1 Corinthians:
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not vain in the Lord. (1Co 15:58 )
krazee4jc 05-31-2010, 05:36 PM We pulled from the Daily Bread as I grew up [crossheld]
I have one that sits on my dresser I pull daily and focus on the scripture :-D
Madre 06-01-2010, 06:57 AM From the Psalms:
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Ps 91:1)
Madre 06-02-2010, 09:23 AM From Isaiah:
The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. (Isa 9:2)
Madre 06-05-2010, 08:59 AM Lots of hope from Luke:
Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Lu 12:27-32)
Madre 06-10-2010, 08:28 AM From Lamentations:
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. (La 3:22-26)
Madre 06-14-2010, 11:46 AM From the Psalms:
From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah. (Ps 61:2-4)
Madre 06-16-2010, 02:36 PM From Philippians:
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; (Phil. 2:12-15)
Madre 06-22-2010, 01:44 PM From the Psalms:
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (Ps. 91:14-16)
Madre 06-23-2010, 01:56 PM From Luke:
"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." (Lk. 6:38
Madre 06-25-2010, 02:42 PM From the Psalms:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Ps. 46:1)
Madre 06-26-2010, 01:57 PM From Colossians:
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Col. 3:1-4)
Madre 06-28-2010, 02:15 PM From 1 Peter:
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (1 Pe. 5:6-7)
Madre 07-07-2010, 08:55 AM Psalm 23 is blessing me lately:
1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Madre 07-13-2010, 09:14 PM From 2 Timothy:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Ti. 1:7)
