I don't really love nor hate my name. It's 'ok'. I do sometimes feel like it sounds too childish but thats probably just because I've never known any adult Ashlee's. I guess the name wasn't very common until the 80's so I guess that makes sense. :???:

I'm somewhat neutral on mine as well. But I like that it has range, for nicknames. I prefer the shortened versions of my name. Or combos with my middle and last names. (All the baby names I had picked out had a range of possible nicknames too.)

I love my name! I feel like it's cute and fun! My full name is Kathryn...so I get the best of both worlds. A long pretty name and a cute short nickname! hehe!

I love my first name and don't really like my middle name. Luckily I don't have to use it much, so I'm pretty much fine with it, lol!

(It's Edna, by the way....)

Never liked my full first name (Margaret) so I always go by Margi (soft 'g' as in 'glove')

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my name... I don't have a middle name (that is not uncommon in Mexico) so I am just Paloma... and I love it :D .... I love what it means (Dove), what it represents, everything! and I love that it's not a common name in Mexico (it is more common in Spain) ... I always get compliments about my name and I love that too.... people even ask me... "That's beautiful, is that like a nick name or is that your real name?" LOL! I always thank my mom for my name... ok enough... I think it's pretty clear by now how much I like it LOL!

I couldn't imagine having a different name, it is me and I am it, it is perfect for me. I never really thought about it so I guess that means I do love it.

It is interesting that you get flak for your name not being ethnic enough, my mom's name is pretty ethnic and she has the problem of people not being able to spell or pronounce it so she just goes by a shortened version of it. I don't think she loves her name. She wanted to give me a more ethnic name, but then my dad pointed out I'd have all the same problems that she did/does so they just named me something that would pretty much work in both languages.

The only nice thing about my name is...I never had a classmate with it :-D I guess it's an old name.
I love my middle name "Jeanine" My original name was to be Jeanine Louise :-D JLR just like my dad, guess I always wished I had my dads initials.

I really do like my name, altho I have never put much thought into it, lol. I mean, Genifer. I think that name sounds so wierd when you take it and roll it around your tongue. I do like that its spelt differently tho. It was quite a common name in the delivery ward when I was born, so my mom wanted to spell it differently. I get a bit of stick about it here, bc people think it must be how they spell it in Canada. Then I have to explain that Im not Canadian, but american (some people I meet think my accent is canadian!! Its totally not!), and 'No, its not how they spell it in america, my mom just wanted it to be unique'[cheerful]

I love my girls names tho. Julianna and Sophia. We looked them up once and obviously everyone knows Sophia means 'wisdom', so she loved that. But, we found a version of Julianna which meant something like 'Downy haired bearded one'.... She was NOT happy. She wanted to change it when she grew up from that moment on. Ive since found it really means 'Fair haired youthful one', which actually describes them both quite succinctly. I dont know if she ever really recovered from that first definition tho.

I don't particularly care for my name. I think it's one of those that just sounds weird, as Gen says, as you roll it around on your tongue. I think "what kind of a name is Tara?" But I don't have any better ideas, so I'll just stick with it LOL

I like mine, it's really common though. I had 7 others in my class with my name and I hated that. We were called with our name and a number added on the end by teachers/peers. In 7th grade I started going by Jessy and it has stuck and I'm much happier with that. :)

Jessy- I wanted to name Valorie "Jessica" but my friend had a baby girl 2weeks before me :( She's glad cause we too have to many Jessys

I use to hate my name...but now like someone else said... "it's me". I really dont think about it. Its a family name (Dad's grandma as well as his only sister) so its special to me in that way:)

I really like my name - I only started shortening it when I was about 17 - and now most people call me the shortened version (the only disadvantage is that there seem to be so many Jos around).

I have never liked my name. I had a cousin named Tammy that is the same age as me. My dad's family saw her more so she was Tammy and I had to use both my 1st and middle names- Tammy Sue. Sounds so plain and hick! [whatwacko] If I could choose I would pick Stephanie which would probably sound to cutesy though....Stephen and Stephanie. lol

Hey, I had a reply typed out but hit the wrong button and it's gone!

I was one of many Jennys in class (it was us and the Jasons!) During my professional working years, I went by Jennifer, it just sounded better to me. Jenny sounds so...little girl to me.

Jo, "Joanne" was my dream name when I was a kid because I always wanted to be called "Jo". It came from reading Little Women. :-D

I love my first name, Megan...although I've also gone by Meg since high school. I never really liked my middle name, Ashley. My mom said she just liked the name, but so did every other mom having kids within a two year stretch around my birthday because there's always been another Ashley in my classes growing up (at least one). So when I got married I completely dropped my middle name and made my maiden name my middle name. :)
