Just thought I'd give a bit of a life update. I haven't been on as much because my family (http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/showthread.php?t=604886#) was in from FL and then the ILs were here. http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/images/smilies/033102biguhm_1_prv%5B1%5D.gif It was CRAZY last week!
So yeah, my family was here. It was their spring break. They drove up and spent the better part of the week here and we stayed with them about an hour south of our home (made for a long commute for me to work but well worth it). We got to go to the museum (to see the Dead Sea Scrolls!), have family pics taken, spend a day at the Dells (waterpark capital of the world), and just hang out! Did you hear about the meteor (http://abcnews.go.com/US/video/meteors-in-wisconsin-and-midwest-10380661)? We saw it! We were driving home from the Dells and just happened to be looking in the right direction. Pretty amazing! We had an awesome time though. As always, it makes me miss them so much.http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/images/smilies/bye2.gif
This last weekend DH's parents came over. Because of the busy week and us just not communicating well, we never made plans for going to BILs show. Probably better that way after the week we had. I could tell Grace was in need of some mommy and daddy alone time. She was just tired and very needy. The last thing I wanted to do was get in the car and drive a few hours away from her late at night.
We had a nice, but short, visit with the ILs though. Just hung out all day and then they made dinner here for us. I enjoy that a lot. Then we played games. The only down side to DH's family is that they don't seem to understand baby's needs. Yes, she needs to nap. Yes, she needs to go to sleep at a regular time. Yes, she needs to spend time with her parents. MIL would get "sad" when it was nap/bed time. Well, when she's whining and not much fun, won't even go to others, she definitely needs to sleep! But other than that, we had a good time.
In the middle of our family visits, I had a work meeting. Boo. It's a pretty busy time of year though - end of year testing is coming up and lots of stuff to do. But I like it this way. Makes my days at work go by faster and gives me more to do. Anyway, I found out last week that I'll most likely be getting laid off this coming year. Our company grew a lot this last year. This coming year though there have been some surprising changes that will mean the loss of jobs for many, many teachers. It's pretty sad. http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif Unfortunately, since I'm not willing to work FT, I will probably be one of them.
To be honest, I'm not upset about it. I'll miss the ease of my job and the great people I work with and for. But overall, this gives me the opportunity to really do something else. I'd love to be home FT. I'm not sure we'll be able to afford it this coming year still. However, DH is making GREAT progress and steps forward in landing a FT job that he'll LOVE for next school year!!! http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/images/smilies/yahoo.gif I am so proud of him and soooo excited to see where this goes. YAHOO! Of course, nothing is for sure yet, but we've got our hopes up anyway. http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
Well, here are some pictures of our life recently. Thanks for reading! http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

Sorry... not the best picture. But Gracie LOVED playing in the water here at the slide. Aunt Maddy had a blast too!

And Gracie's other favorite hang out spot... the water spouts! So cool! She kept trying to grab the water. It was pretty cute. http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif Sorry for the boob shot!

She finally fell asleep and my held her while DH and I went on the "big" rides. It was a lot of fun. But, to be fair, the biggest ride even Maddy managed to go down. She probably wasn't quite the right height, but once she sneaks by one person, how can they say no to her then? It was perfectly safe though. Anyway... lots of fun!
