How can I tell if Shaelyn has a UTI?!
No fever...holding herself 'down there' and whimpering...no diaper rash and don't notice anything visually...
HELP!!!

I am assuming she is still in a diaper? Is she urinating more frequently than normal? She might not produce a lot of urine each time she goes but she will have to actually "go" often. Are there traces of blood in her urine? That is usually a sure sign that something is up.

There might be an odor to her urine. Is she holding herself and whimpering while she is peeing? Because I'm pretty sure with a uti that's when it would hurt. I'd load her up on carnberry juice and water just in case.. it can't hurt.

Could be an irritation on the inside of the genital area. My daughter has had that before. Lots of fluids helps either way. Also an oatmeal bath will do wonders if it is irritation.
I would definitely load her up with cranberry juice (check labels to make sure it's really cranberry juice!)
if it doesn't help in a few days or you see any trace of blood I'd call doc right away.
If she's in diapers I'd let her run around in undies even if it makes a mess to get some 'air time'

Thank you all! We visited the doc yesterday since she was still in tears when urinating...and guess what? (keep in mind we get our new health insurance in 2.5 weeks...) After working forever to get her to pee in a cup then in a bag stuck to her and lots of tears...it's NOT a uti. UGH. Maybe I'm a bad mom?! I wanted it to be something so it could be treated.
I've been pushing the liquids and she loves it! We only give our kidos 1 cup of something special each day (juice/soda/chocolate milk) so she likes the extras. Makes for hugs diapers, but it's ok...
AFTER we got home from the doc she spiked a fever. niiiiiiice. another this morning.
document those symptoms, mama, in case something further develops
praying for her.
