I thought that I was headed for ovulation. I had a beautiful mucus patch, cervical changes, and something that even looked like a thermal shift (temporarily), and a dry up. But during the dry up, my temp fell. The dry up lasted until Peak + 4, and then the more fertile mucus came back. So it was a failed ovulation attempt, apparently. It looks like my body is gearing back up to try again, as evidenced by the mucus and cervical changes on my chart.
My temps are right around in the 97.3 range, give or take a few, pre-ovulation.
Anyway, we'll see where this heads, in my journey back to regular cycles!

That can get so frustrating when you are trying to figure out what is going on and when to, "say yes to the dress" (more like say yes to dh, but that does not rhyme). I hope a clear pattern emerges soon!

You may have dropped. That's what I ended up doing on all our babies. Not to scare you or anything, but we figured out that I habitually dropped two. One around day 14 with a mucus patch with a small spike then a second, bigger mucus patch with the assured temp spike 14-18 days after that. My cycles topped out at about 38 to 45 days long before the baby we lost. So, I would ovulate twice most cycles from what we figured. Which, fraternal twins do run in my family....
Be careful if you are adamant that right now is not the time for a third. Give yourself some time. You've been nursing for how long? That can make things a bit weird.

Oh, we are being careful.
You're right, nursing can make things wonky. This August, I will have been nursing for 4 years straight with no breaks.
The NFP/FAM rules are built to take into consideration the chances of a double ovulation, though. Their phase III rules are conservative enough that you shouldn't catch an egg, even if you drop two of them. :D
I'm really trying to encourage DS to go 10ish hours at night without nursing. Hopefully that'll help things kick back in more normal!
When I ovulated for the first time after DD and had my first period, the cycle after that was very normal. So I'm hoping that things click back in quickly for me this time too.
A lot of this lingo is WAY over my head, but I wanted to just say that I hope your cycle comes back and gets normal for you. It's a bit frustrating when you're waiting for it, and you don't get clear signals. I can't believe you've been nursing for four years straight! Go you!
