So does anyone else have nausea? Mine lasts all day long, worse in the morning and at night. I havn't thrown up yet, had dry heaves one morning, but mostly just nauseas...continually. I have tried everything I know of to releive it, small meals, ginger, tums, not eating, eating, saltiens, cereal, and there is not much that helps, or sometimes something will work today but not tomorrow. Anyone else have suggestions. I plt for my nausea to continually remind me that this little bean is still going strong, but sometimes when I wish I felt better, I just wish something would help a little.

Ah, Becky, I feel for you. What you're going through sounds so similar to what I was doing, too. My nausousness was worst first in the morning, a little less during the day, and bad again at night. I only got sick a few times during those weeks, but I was nauseous almost every day for a large part of the day. I couldn't find anything that helped me. I just ate what I could one day and took it day by day. I didn't really have some healthy meals at times, but you have to just have what you can. You will get everything you need on the days you're able to eat better. Even though you are very thankful for your precious baby, it can be tiring to be nauseous every day. But you'll get through it. Mine only lasted until about 13w - maybe yours won't last too long either.

I am almost 12 weeks and had 3 solid weeks of true morning sickness. I completely understand what you are suffering with. I never had it at all with my first, but this one, boy she is kicking my booty! I did a lot of ginger ale and graham crackers. It seemed like nothing else would stay down but if I ate like half a pack of graham crackers right before I took my prenatals I did ok.
I have been feeling almost completely back to normal in that area since right at the end of 9 weeks. Occasional nausea, but no more throwing up. Now, this one is making me soooooo sleepy and cry, cry, cry. [cry] [crytantrum] [cry]

I second Aalena. Eat what you think sounds good. When I was like that, the only thing I ever wanted to eat was pepperoni bascially Strange, I know, but it stayed down.
I did find that sour food helped quell the tossing tummy. I would eat lemons. The citrus tangerine altoids worked wonders for me too. I did learn the hard way to not get the sour candy with aspertame, asulfame potassium and the like in it. It made me throw up. Not like I have ever been able to keep that stuff settled anyway.
I tried to be grateful for my nasties too. And all the other weird discomforts. It wasn't easy. But it is so worth it in the end.
I'm there babe=) worse in the morning and at night and nothing this time seems to be appitizing except V8 juice=) and lunch meat (turkey) today anyway=). My mid-wife said that it's just important to get through this time so, don't worry too much about getting your "best odds" diet! The baby will take what it needs from you. Ask your doc about taking vitamin B6. Sea- bands are on my list as well. Cold or room temp foods as there tends to be less oder and less likely to set you off. Lemon wedges cut up in a baggy for oder triggers or biting into a wedge to calm your stomach. papaya in any form, atomic fire balls, peppermint, cola syrup or classic coke over ice, wintergreen, salty foods, sweet drinks. Even though you don't feel like eating keep crackers or whatever on you so that you don't get hungery as that hightens it. Lay in bed eating crackers before getting up and when getting up, slowly lift and then move you feet over the side of the bed, taking your time. The BIGGEST thing that has helped me so far this pregnancy is to eat often, even if it's just some crackers. It doesn't make the feeling go away completely but, drastically lessens it. Don't let your self get hungry and the first indication isn't growling stomach but, nausea, so keep low calorie snacks on hand at all times!!! smooches to you and I totally, totally feel you, I'm right there too=) -ren
Know what you're going thru. Had the same thing, lasted over 2 months, and then last month of 1st tri became evening sickness. But I did throw up, say, an average of once every 2 days. Nothing really worked 4 me, either, except eating a sweet carb would relieve me temporarily. I remember the misery and totally empathize. :(

Are you having ginger ale or ginger root? With my m/s, I find that ginger ale did not really help, but if I take some ginger root and boil it to make a tea, that does help me so much. Very minty gum or candies helps me, also, but not as much as the ginger root. Sometimes having any kind of gum or hard candy - constantly in my mouth keeps that sick feeling in my throat at bay.
If you can, try getting an extra hour (or three) of sleep a night, getting extra sleep is also supposed to help m/s symptoms subside, and that usually helps me too.
It's not great for you, but some starchy foods like white rice or mashed potatoes can help when crackers do not and you are hungry but everything is grossing you out. I hope you find something that helps you feel better! I know how awful it is to feel sick all the time, even if it means your bean is holding strong.

only thing that helped me either pregnancy was carbonation...any type of pop (non-diet, the diet just made me want to puke more!)
I was pretty much that way 24/7 with the twins and was miserable; I barely ate and everything I DID eat came back up. I had cravings a lot for take out, if I HAD to cook it, I couldn't eat it, it was the weirdest thing... even just a sandwich, it was horrible. I would throw up anything *I* made; well, me and my MIL... all she ever cooked was Whole Wheat stuff or the like, and I couldn't stomach whole wheat, it tasted SO bitter to me then. Anyways, blah blah...
Ginger Ale, especially DIET ginger ale, stayed down really well; anything salty and carby like potato chips and ramen noodles... stuff that was starchy. I really just lived off that kind of stuff and still only gained about 10 to 15 pounds, it was horrible.... ugh.... I'm sorry you're dealing with it, ma-dear!

Ahhhh the joys of pregnancy...in a few months you will be so distracted by your baby kicking you that you probably won't even remember the nausea...but I know how hard it is when you are in the middle of it. Like other pps said, homemade ginger tea....Dh would make it for me...I had to have some sugar in it, but it really did help. Those lollipops that they have for preggos that are like $5 a pop tend to be ginger...but hey, just buying the root and boiling some is MUCH cheaper! I also ate LOTS and LOTS of sour candy...I think that was more of a craving, but I could keep it down. I only threw up once with DD's pg and didn't with this one, but the nausea almost seems like it would be worse. I do know that "they" say that pepermint tea is suppose to help also.
I pray you can find something for your nausea that works....!!! Here's to your little one thriving thus far!
Blessings,
Amber

I so can sympathize with you sweetie. I had sever morning sickness for 3 months & ended up being hospitalized. I couldn't stomach really anything. Someone else mentioned it, but ask your midwife/doc if you can take Vitamin B-6 and I was also put on another med for nausua. Try some freeze pops. They were pretty easy to tolerate. I will not tell you to do this, but my Prenatal's would make me feel worse. But... check with doc first before you discontinue those. I will pray for comfort and relief!
When you have that baby in your arms.. all those icky feelings will be a thing of the past!

Awww Becky, I hate to hear you're experiencing the nausea but rejoiceful that you are.
What has worked for me, like other sister's have shared are sour things. For me lemons and sour green apples help curb my nausea. I find it odd that sour things help a sour feeling tummy. I know ginger truly does work as well but I haven't had to use it yet.
I agree that trying to curb hunger before it strikes, in lieu of eating being one of the last things you truly want to do, helps proactively curb the nausea.
God bless!

I also know what you are going through. I either gagged or had nausea through my entire pregnancy. Breakfast time was the worst if I ate too fast or it just seemed certain textures of foods got to me. I agree with the others, eat what you can when you can. Let's just say that DQ knew my name by the time I gave birth! Another thing I felt worked for me was that I would try to eat no more than 20-30 minutes before I was to lay down for a nap or bedtime. I didn't get heartburn that way as much.
I was so tired of not being able to enjoy breakfast that one of my requests was that my dh was to take me out to supper before I had my dd and have - you guessed it - breakfast foods! So a big plate of pancakes at 5 pm! Needless to say I really enjoyed my pancakes since I was not able to enjoy them in the morning!
was reminded of this- potien is really good too. Also, about the pre-natals. with em my doc said to just take regular vitamins and extra folic acid, this time the mid wife said the same thing. with em I did discontinue he vitamins in the higth of morning sickness and continued them afterward. Ask your doc. but, here's what I was told: the baby will take from you what it needs. you need vitamins to replenish yourself. Also what i was told about the medicle push for pre-natal vitamins was that it's pushed because so many woman don't eat healthy so they push it on all so that the ones who don't eat well will get what they need. But, yah, don't discontinue or change without consulting your OB;) -ren

Thanks ladies for all the suggestions, I haven't tried boiling ginger root for a tea. Right now I am trying the sour candy which helps a little. As soon as I get some energy I am going to go get a motion sickness band. I think one of my big problems is I am waiting to eat too long, and then nausea hits. anyways I am thankful that I have nausea, I just am looking forward to it being done.

Ugh! I've had 3 really sick pregnancies, I feel your pain!!
Eat often
Eat small
Eat before you feel you need to
Saltines or maybe grapes at the bedside so you can grab them during the night/upon waking, before you're actually active for the day
Ginger is supposed to help, though no experience myself
Carbonated drinks worked for me too, as already mentioned
Pickles worked REALLY well for me one pregnancy..was practically all I ate for 2-3 months
And yes, try the motion sickness bands
Oh, peanut butter crackers! You know those packaged pb cracker sandwiches? Those helped me too. Providing at least a hint of protein and the salt settled me. And I just like them anyway, but I was able to continue to like and eat them :)
