I have been getting these feeling or sensations and I'm wondering if they are from the baby moving? The NMW said it would feel kind of like a flutter at first. I'm not sure how to describe what I'm feeling, but it does seem to be happening at certain times of the day (usually afternoon or evening). It is not really comfortable, but it also isn't necessarily painful either, not sure I can call it "cramping" but I also wouldn't describe it as a flutter feeling either. Maybe it is just the uterus stretching that I'm feeling? Just wondering what the first baby movements have felt like for any of you other ladies?
My first little movements always felt like little gas bubbles. What you're talking about almost sounds like ligament stretching. This is a little uncomfortable as your ligaments stretch with the new weight of your growing baby. It *can* be painful, but isn't anything to worry about. It typically (for me) happened in my sides, or low in my belly, above my pubic bone. So basically the outside edges of my belly. The baby kicking doesn't (again, for me) hurt until they get MUCH-much bigger~ :)
Right now, your baby is roughly four inches long, and 2.5 ounces... about the size of an apple. You could *very* well be starting to feel little thumps and swishes in there. :)

That sounds right, Jen. It does seem to be more in my sides and lower belly. They usually only last like a second or two, like twinges.
Thank you!
Jen described things very well. I was going to describe early baby movement as gas bubbles too. :D
