Was wondering if anyone here has used Bio Oil? I got the Walgreens version and started using it a few days ago. This afternoon, the skin on the upper part of my belly is pink and a little itchy and I'm wondering if it's an allergic reaction... wondering if anybody else has used it and had any problem?

not sure what you're using it for...stretch marks maybe? but I was told that if you're gonna get stretch marks, you're gonna get 'em. nothin you can do about it. :-D marks of mommy-hood!

hope you're not allergic though! I'd discontinue use and see if it goes away...

actually I use bio oil on my face and at first it burned a little, not too much, and I probably should have stopped using it, but it doesnt burn anymore. Why dont you do a test patch on another small piece of skin. It sounds like it could be an allergic reaction but it mightn't be.

That's interesting, because that seems to be what it did to my skin on my belly. It looked for a couple of days like I had gotten slight sunburn there and it itched some. I wonder if I could keep using it if it would stop, too. Got a doctor appointment tomorrow so will mention it to her.

Yes.... using to supposedly help prevent or reduce stretch marks. I have a friend who says she used and she didn't get any. I have read the same thing, that if you're going to get them, you will get them, but I can't imagine it could hurt, except for a possible allergic reaction , to use products that can help with the skin's elasticity.

I did read that some people react to vitamin E, so maybe that is it, because it does have vit e in it. I'm wondering if Coco butter does... have heard of women also using that.

Just a side note... I never used any cream, lotion, oil etc with my other pregnancies and got basically no stretch marks. This time I've used some lotion just cuz I'm dry & itchy and no stretch marks as well. I kinda think it's genetic or something but like you said, probably doesn't *hurt* to use something!
