I find myself ALWAYS singing "Jesus Lover of My Soul" [crossheld] to rock him to sleep or if he's fussing, calms him down :-D or "Yes, Lord Yes"
A fun song for him is "Put on My Walking Shoes"

Oooh, beautiful, Donna! [lovesmile] I always sang one particular song to our kids when I rocked them or walked with them, trying to console them. I think it was called More Love. I have NO idea where I heard it, but I still sing it to them after all these years! It goes...

Chorus:

More love, more love,

The Heavens are blessing,

The Angels are calling, oh Zion, more love.

(repeat)

Verse:

If we love not each other in daily communion, how can we love God, who we cannon see?

Repeat chorus....

It's a soft, sweet little lullaby-sounding song. I wish I could find it on youtube or something. I don't even know who sings it or where I ever heard it... But I'm still lulling my big babies with it. [lovesmile]

We have a whole bunch of faves here...

Lullaby (my own version)
Jesus Loves Me
Jesus Loves the Little Children
Amazing Grace
He's got the Whole World in His Hands (my own version)
Hush Little Baby (my own version)
Lord's Prayer
Who Built the Ark?

..there are more I sing but those are the ones the kids like best. Btw, I can't sing a lick, lol. I'm always off tune and I don't have a very appealing voice. I'm just so glad my kids don't notice!

Since Natalia was born I've been singing these:

Porque tu eres bueno (Because you are good)
Maravilloso Dios (Wonderful God)
Los pollitos (The little chickens)
La cabrita (the little goat)

Many other times I just sing whatever comes to my mind (I make up the lyrics about her and how I love her or how God loves her and things like that)

and I don't remember any other right now but as you can see it's mainly in Spanish...

I usually just sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to my kids and alot of songs I just make up as I go so they are a little different each time. Isn't it so sweet how our kids think our voices are the sweetest in the world? (Even when I think I sound like an injured cat, lol!)

Now I have *"Los pollitos dicen pío, pío, pío cuando tienen hambre, cuando tienen frío." stuck in my head. (*The little chicks say peep, peep, peep when they are hungry, when too cold to sleep.) I never remember the whole song, but I do remember that part.
I didn't sing that one too often as a child, but my grandmother always sang "Que linda manita" (What a pretty hand) to me and sometimes I sing it to my babies. It is not "que lindo manito que tengo yo" (What a pretty hand have I) - I just learned that version from one of my aunts last week - I didn't even know there was more than one version!

Keep singing, Ladies! My mom picked out three songs for each of us when we were born. She would sing them to us often. I can still hear her singing. And she does NOT have a good singing voice...but I loved it. She can keep a tune though. LOL! To this day when I hear 'my' songs, I can hear my mom singing them. Maybe I should get them on tape. That would be sweet.

My mom has passed now, but she recorded singing to my sisters when they were little. I got that tape after she died, I had never heard that song before, but now it is one I sing to my kids.

Oh how I love Jesus, oh how I love Jesus, oh how I love Jesus because he first loved me, oh how he did suffer, oh how he did suffer, oh how he did suffer because he loved me so, oh how I love Jesus, oh how I love Jesus, oh how I love Jesus because he first loved me.

We also sing Jesus love me, but I change it to say "Jesus loves Josh" so he understands it is him He loves. When I change it to that he always looks at me so intensly. we also since Jesus loves the little children.
