He enjoyed it and began meeting with the pastor, later accepted Christ and was baptised this last summer. It is great, and I feel very blessed to have a husband who loves Christ and wants to raise our children in a Christian household.

We attended for 6 weeks together and 2 weeks into our marraige he accepted Christ which led to a complete revamp of both of our lives. He is an awesome man of God now, truly striving to be a disciple. I am very proud of him.

That's it. Started going when I was 19, met my now dh, who was a 'preacher boy' and brought me to church.

What kind of church do you go to? We are, hmm, technically I believe we call ourselves Southern Baptists, but we're quite reformed in theology and have a contemporary lean to our service (clear as mud?)

I'm not sure what the other was, it may have been an E Free as well, I can't remember. We were at the one Evangelical Free church for quite some time. The only thing keeping us from being members there was the unavailability of the pastor. We don't do well with that.

I went to a different church as a small child then my parents stopped going. Far drive. I didn't go back to church untill I was about 19 or 20 I became saved about 6 months after. I backslid about a year after that, then when I was married and 2 months pregnant I came running back. I guess marraige can do that to a person :lol:

Calvary Chapel it's non-denominational... they just teach the word of the bible verse by verse chapter by chapter. and they teach so simple so everyone can understand. I was blessed to find this church.

When I was younger I went to a Christian church, but I never understood what the pastor was teaching. I was so little. At Calvary you aren't allowed in the sanctuary unless you are 11, other then that you go to a sunday class appropriate for your age. This way every one takes something from God home with them.

I love it all for different reasons. Church because there is worship, and such a great teaching. Friday womens study, because I can really dig in to a certain topic (usually we go through a whole book slowly) and fellowshipping with the women. Wed. study because It is a main study for the whole church.. it is actually similiar to Sunday, except everything is less formal, the pastor sits at a chair in front instead of standing, he dresses in a Hawaiian shirt, and teaches on the old testement.

That my family ( besides my 9 months old ) doesn't join me.

What is your least favorite part of church? hmmmm - getting the chairs out downstairs in the stadium - taking them to the lift - sending them up in the lift (only 3 stacks of ten fit!) taking them down to the Church room - setting them up - then doing it all again after the service! no it's not that bad but does take a while even with a few people helping!

What is your least favorite part of church? I don't know probably a boring message


What church service do you go to? 11am but I should start getting there for Sunday School. Always did growing up and I know I should. :oops:

Do you have a job or position in your church (whether paid or not)? I will be taking over the Puggles (Awana program for 2 yr olds) in a couple weeks b/c the director is having a baby

Do your kids go to church with you? (Explain why or why not if you want.) Absolutely, he hangs out in the nursery now, but he is there.


Do your kids do anything in your church? umm right now plays nice (hopefully no biting) but I will have him in Sunday School, children's church and Awana or some weekly program when he is old enough. I am so thankful for my Christian parents and I want to pass that on to my kid(s).

Is this the same kind of church that you grew up in (if you grew up in one)? We attended a Christian and Missionary Alliance until I was 6 and then moved and attended a non-denominational one after that.

Do your kids do anything in your church? Oldest two are in Sunday School. Dh and I are on opposite sides of the fence regarding the nursery. I don't like it, he doesn't think it's fair to make her sit through the service. Our boys were in the nursery and it was fine then. Now, they've changed things, I'm not uncomfortable with it, I just don't like it.

*What other kinds of churches have you tried out? We've just attended whichever Christ-centered church God led us to attend where we lived. They've been different Protestant denominations.

*What is your least favorite part of church? A couple aspects of the service feel a little too stiff...but that's no big deal.
*What church service do you go to? Sometimes all as I help my husband with music some weeks. Mostly, I go to the second (last) service.
*Does your church have their own building or do they use a different facility? For over twenty years, we rented a facility, but for three years we've had our own (which still awaits God's timing for finished expansion...right now we're a size 8 foot in a size 6 shoe).

*Do your kids do anything in your church? Our son works in the audio-visual ministry, and our daughter is a junior leader in AWANA. They also attend their youth groups and such. There was a time about five years ago when our son didn't want to go to church, but since he started HS -- junior now -- he loves to go.
