This goes hand in hand with my other thread, but I wanted to make it sep. Anybody got a neat idea for cakes for twins? I usually just make one big cake for their birthday... but this year we were going to do a "special" birthday for each child. I don't know about everybody else, but we can't do "bigger", "fancier" stuff every-single-year for every-single-child. So... this year, we'll do cute plates, cups and favors... and that type of thing.

I wanted to make the twins a nice cake... or maybe each of them a small cake to suit their personalities? I dunno... I'm pretty clueles. Wyatt is sucking most of my brain-cells as we speak... so thinking is not my strong suit right now. ::snort:: I'd love some ideas! TIA gals! :)

You don't know me because I have never introduced myself..:) I am a twin myself and I have twin daughters (22 months). My mom (and now I) always made two angel food cakes. One for each of us. Sometimes we would celebrate the same day, other times we would get different days and have a special meal we wanted.
You could make two cakes and decorate them according to each child's likes.

We're doing Veggie Tales for Moriah's birthday. You could do a Bob and a Larry or something along that line. We are doing Bob. Fairly simple. Round cake, plus frosting. Larry could be cut out of a sheet cake easily.

You could do cup cakes. Like do a caterpillar, or butterfly or something, then everyone gets their own.

Or do something themed off their favorite stories.

You'll come up with something, I know you will.

I know I already mentioned butterflies and flowers...but...you could do one of each..one gets butterfly the other gets flower. Or...they each get a differently decorated butterfly or flower..with *their* fave colors, kwim?

Those are both super simple to do too. You likely won't be wanting to take on a castle with a wee Wyatt around hehe

I also like the decorate your own cupcake idea. Caterpillars especially :) So cute!

I'll try to think on it some more. Got lunch on the stove :p
