Hey Ladies!
I was just wondering what ages you began to teach your children to bathe themselves? And then when they were able to do so alone? I have a 3 1/2 year old and she's very mature and intelligent (modesty is me) [humbleornot] . Anywho... she has been asking to bathe herself. We tried a couple of times to teach her and all... she does okay, but not comfortable allowing her to do so on her own :? Thought maybe you all could give me some insight as to when it would be okay!

My ds and dd started bathing themselves when they were around 4 1/2 but I still had to check to make sure they did a good job  . I would also "help" them wash their hair fbecause they would just do the middle of their heads  and the sides wouldn't be washed.

I would say around 4 for us. But, my youngest (7) still needs us to wash her hair.

My daughter just turned 3 two months ago and she has started to bathe herself. I check in at times to make sure everything is okay and i still do wash her hair but the rest she can handle pretty good. :)

I have wondered about that too. I will leave the bathroom and set out Ash's jammies and stuff, but I don't go too far. He likes to be silly and jump up and down sometimes and still drink the bath water!!

I am worried that he will fall and bust his head open.

Yeah, around 4.5 - 5 mine have been independently bathing. With me washing their hair at least til then. (washing their hair until at least that age I mean)

Same here, mine is 6 now and I still help him with his hair.
