I have been reading the book "How to potty train your child in one day". Has anyone else read it or done what the book suggests? I am almost done reading it and wanted to try it out. For those who have read it or tried it, what did you think? Did it work? I have two weeks off work staring next week and I wanted to try this at the begining of my time off so that in case it doesn't work I have two weeks to work on potty training. I just wanted others oponions to see if I was on the right track.

I read it. Wasn't sure I was impressed. I didn't use the methods in it, but then, I think that most kids can be trained earlier than what they suggest (eldest was done by her second birthday, youngest is on track to be about that time too)

My next baby I plan on using elimination communication with (for a good book on that, The Diaper Free Baby by Christine Gross Loh is excellent) and you can start it at any age. There are segments in the book for starting at various ages up to like three I think (been awhile since I read it and it is currently AWOL since we moved nearly two years ago).

It is worth a shot if you think it may be something that will work with your child. I do not know anyone who has trained with that method, so I am interested if it does work for most kids. Let us know how it goes.

Well the potty party didn't work out like I expected. We definately made progress but not like the book said. There is alot of things that go into a "potty party" and can cost what seems a fortune just for potty training. I couldn't follow the book exactly because I couldn't afford it. I don't think I would recomend it unless you can follow the book to the tee, even then it depends on your child. The book has some great idea's that I used that I think worked with Rhiana. It was a really tiring day but I can see progress and I hope that tomorrow I will see even more progress.

Just wanted to say I am not familiar with the book you are asking about, but we did use 3daypottytraining.com and had total success with it. DS was trained in 5 days, but only because his poop schedule was happening during nap, so had to try to get that schedule adjusted, which when we did by giving him fiber at certain times, it was just a matter of getting the poop part down.

The program was highly recommended to us by a family friend, and after we used it successfully, my BIL's girlfriend used it with her daughter and also had great success.
