Hey all you moms out there that just had a wee one. I just wanted to remind you to be careful about DTD if you don't want to get pregnant again. My cousin, who has a 3 year old and a 5 month, is 3 months pregnant. She got pregnant 2 months after giving birth. :-D She's happy but I'm sure it's going to be hard on her body.

sooooo.... be careful! (i'm yelling this same thing to myself)

That's amazing. Hard for me to fathom since my body doesn't work that way. But everybody's different. Best wishes to your cousin for a healthy pregnancy!

This is WAAAAAY OT but you whacked your hair off?! ADORABLE!

I'm glad your cousin is thrilled about that, that definitely wouldn't be the case with everyone. :)

Wheeeeew buddy! Man oh man! I'd be "happy", but yeah, I'd also be thinking at the same time, "More weight to work off", "less recovery time", "more aches and pains". Just having Eliya and Wyatt closer than our others has been MUCH harder this time around. I do NOT think it's my age (being another year older), I really think it's being more out of shape/less toned due to JUST having had a baby July '08.

Fortunately, breastfeeding seems to be a natural birth control for us, but I had a friend who that was typically the case with her too... and onnnnnne time... she got pregnant right away like that. She was happy but really a bit depressed too. She was a bit heavy that time around, like me now, and it was really a very hard pregnancy and delivery. Thankfully, the pregnancy flew and now they are just more careful after a baby comes~ ::snort::

Ooohh man!!!! Yeah that's rough on the body!

Now that Grace is 5 months I'm feeling more comfortable about the idea of getting pg again but we'd ideally like to hold off until this summer to ttc. But then we weren't ttc when we found out about Grace either! And since my body has been irregular and out of sorts in the AF department DH and I have been super conservative on when we'll make love. Which means... poor DH! [thumbsdown]

All I know is that I'm thankful it is in God's timing and that HE is our Provider. This whole having people (little, tiny, beautiful, vulnerable people at that) depending on us to sustain them (and SO much more!) can be stressful... but with Christ everything comes into focus and the stress isn't so... stressful!!! :D And then it's all as it should be... love, care, and tenderness, laughter, joy, and memories. Oh man! Here I am preaching to the choir and probably saying it all to better comfort me than anything else. :)

Oh my! Was she breastfeeding? Something like that happened to a co-worker of mine years ago but she was bottle-feeding her baby so that was not as shocking. If she was nursing and still got pg that would kind of scare me a little bit - I was not even planning on charting again until I saw/felt some signs of a return to fertility or G was 6 mos old (whichever happens first).

I am glad she is so happy!

She tried nursing, but it didn't work out for her. But even still, for ones body to kick into gear that quickly is amazing and crazy.

I'm nervous because, even though I am nursing 100%, I fill fertility coming on *discharge and such* and it's only been a little over 6 weeks. Dh is planning on getting snipped, but then we found out that our insurance didn't reinstate him even though he did all the paper work and such. So NOW we have to do the paper work all over again and that means a few more months until he is covered with insurance to get snipped. The problem is we don't use condems because I usually always get a yeast infection, and I don't like birth control pills. so we do the pull out method *TMI SORRY* I'm just think, if I get pregnant right away again..... well I'll just curl up in a ball and cry.

Wow, that is crazy and amazing! Some bottlefeeding moms don't even get a period until 3 months postpartum.

Micah's 1st birthday is the end of next month and no fertility or period yet here. (Of course, I'm sure nursing baby AND 3 year old contributes)

As far as birth control goes, if none of the other things work for you, could you meet with an NFP instructor? They might be able to help you out with NFP or FAM so that you could feel confident.

Or maybe your OB/GYN has a suggestion for birth control? Do you think that the condoms themselves are giving you yeast infections or is it spermicide or something else? (Feel free not to share if that is too personal)

I'm one of those women that has their fertility kick in full speed only months after birth. Af usually shows her face 3 months pp approx. Which means by a little over 2 months pp I'm fertile. That's fully breastfeeding, no paci, no supplementing, no bottle, ect. Yeah, I guess I'm just blessed like that![whatwacko]

My friend who got pregnant again right away was nursing~ It was such a fluke situation. Obviously that was just clearly God's timing for them~ ::snort::

There's a product called VCF, it's a Spermicidal Film. I used that before Eliya for quite a few months and never got pregnant, and we're a pretty fertile couple. You just insert the film, wait a few minutes for it to dissolve, and it kills sperm on contact. I didn't have any irritation from it, and we don't like condoms for similar reasons. You can buy VCF at WM and it wasn't terribly expensive.

yah, me too. I always start right after my 6 week period is up. As far as condoms. We've tried several different kinds. I don't know why, but they all have given me a yeast infection or they irritate my hoo haaa.

Have you ever tried more natural ones, like lambskin? How about polyurethane? You might have a latex sensitivity.

I'm, apparently, on the minority side of fertility coming back too. I stopped PP bleeding at ~6 weeks and two weeks later I had more bleeding. It's been every two weeks or so since then. I hadn't had major signs of fertility though PP until this last week. I'm feeling very fertile! ;) And DD is only 5 months! Oh, and she is exclusively BF - no paci, no supplement etc... So far no bambino numero dos yet! :D
