Does anyone make their own baby food? Where did you learn it from? Thanks :)

yes, I made ours. just boiled the veggies (you can steam them also). then I threw it in the blender with the water I boiled it in. put it in ice cube trays and froze them. removed from trays and put them in gallon ziplok baggies to keep in the freezer. labeled them with date and item. that's it!

I've tried doing the ice tray method but in general I just throw pieces of our food on his highchair for him to entertain himself with. I figure that under a year old, food is mostly just for practice anyway.

yeah i used to when my kiddies were that age. i did the usual puree veg , but my SIL gave me a baby cook book as a prezzie , had loads of recipies in suitable for different ages , which i found really helpful cos my youngest dd got bored relly easily and wanted more exciting tastes. and it also told you if they were ok to freeze most were.

I will be in the next month or so. I've done some research online but I also got a great book on it. I think I'll bake and steam my veggies and then puree. My grandma got me a food mill that purees the food really well without having to use the whole blender. It's smaller and less work to clean than the blender (I tried it ot to make a fruit puree/drink thing for me! I love it!)

yup, I have made lots of it.

easy - buy organic unsweetened applesauce, bananas, and avocados. those you don't really need to prep... just smash the nanas and avocados with a fork.

harder, but worth it... steam and puree fruits and veggies.

I got a book from the used book store. It helped with some combos... some items by themselves are simply too runny or thick so that was helpful.
