I've been in a really fluffy mood lately and have been enjoying preening my diaper stash. I was thinking that it would be fun to have a thread where we can all share pictures of our stash. Not only will it be fun to share, but it will give newbies to cloth diapers ideas.

What do y'all think?

Right now most of my stash is in the wash, but when I get it washed (and possibly when I get 3 more diapers in the mail) I will post a pic.

This just means a pic sharing thread for all of us to show off our magnificent diaper collections such as prefolds, covers, pocket diapers, All in Ones, etc.

I'm drooling in anticipation. All mine are packed away :(. And they are all very very boring prefolds mainly. My MIL did get me some fitteds and a few pockets, but, I hated them as they weren't lined (she had no clue what she was buying on ebay...) I am looking forward to seeing the stashes. And I promise I will try hard not to covet. (not like I need any right now, Beans is close to potty trained and is in undies a lot, which is good, but I want some cute dipes)

In my stash are the following:

Fuzzi Bunz:
1 frog print
1 zoo print
1 black
5 white
2 lavender
3 aqua
1 apple green
1 green
1 turquoise
2 sage green
2 yellow
2 red
1 periwinkle
1 royal blue

Out of these, the royal blue, periwinkle, apple green, and one of the aquas are new style. Both of the reds and one of the whites are Old Old Style, and the rest of the stash are just regular Old Style

Wonderoo One Size Pockets:
2 Magenta

Prefolds:
About 2 dozen in number, although not all are pictured
1 homemade flat diaper next to the prefolds

Covers:
1 Bummi Super Whisper Wrap in Frog print
1 older Bummi wrap in pig print

Not pictured is a homemade wool soaker that I made out of an old sweater

Pictured also are two wet bags, a sampling of some of the wipes I have, such as some regular flannel ones, and some flannel and fleece ones.

Also pictured are two snappis, one purple and one light blue, I have more than that, but they aren't in the picture. And next to those is my Burt's Bees diaper rash cream.

That pretty much sums up my stash! :D

ETA: I also ordered a train print for my stash. I couldn't resist the cute print!

Wow, we didn't have all of that neat stuff when my kids were babies. The best diapers were from Sears. You doubled them, pinned them, and covered them with Gerber's plastic pants.

Very, very pretty, Ruth! :-D

I guess that you can understand why diapering is a hobby for some of us. :D

Isn't it amazing what they have come out with? Most of the cloth diaper advances have been within the last 10-15 years, I think.

LOVE IT!!!!

Oh, the colors, textures and just wonderfulness of it all...

Maybe I can splurge if we hold off on getting preggo again for another year.

I like Hyland's diaper rash cream, only problem is it still has petroleum jelly in it, but no zinc thankfully. Only thing that works on the Bean. How well does the Burt's work, Ruth? I'm going to have to get some more (thankfully it takes forever for us to go through a tube) and I'm willing to try something new.

And I have that Frog Pond Whisper wrap. I think it is so cute, it was my favorite when it fit my kiddos. And I love the snappis for the prefolds (I only have the aqua ones, and they were great until the kids figured out how to unhook them.

Thanks for sharing!

I think that I've liked the Burt's Bees fairly well overall. It is 100% natural which really is nice. I bought a different brand though recently for a very stubborn rash.

One thing that you might want to check out is http://www.diaperswappers.com. Moms buy and sell used diapers over there and I also have gotten some great deals on new or almost new diapers there too.

Thanks Ruth! We had to use aveeno's rash ointment for a bad one a while back, but I don't like it and it has zinc. Hyland's is all natural, homeopathic except for the petroleum jelly. But I do realize you have to have a carrier agent and figured that was better than zinc (we were using cloth at that point as we hadn't outgrown my stash)

I really liked the prefolds. That is all I used when he was tiny. Now I can not use a snappy anymore, he is way to chubby :-D but still lay them in a cover. Was not sure if I should buy the bigger ones. How are they to put on a squirmy trying to crawl munchkin with a snappi? I have not tried the non organic ones so I do not know if they work any different. I like the apple cheeks. I mostly just lay the insert on top and reuse the cover when I can. They have elastic everywhere. Super nice! :-D Then I bought a couple fitted because I love the wool. We have one pair of shorts and the striped ones are longies. :-D So fun!!

It is harder when they're older and squirmier but it is doable. I like Bummi covers, I have a couple of them myself. And I would LOVE to get some wool longies and soakers but I don't have the $$$ to pay $50 each for longies. Did you make or buy yours?

plaid
12-30-2009, 03:00 PM
Etsy [jumping] for wool. They have tons! Some are expensive, but I have caught mine for very reasonable. I wanted to make some and tried but it was felted and not stretchy so all the ones I have made so far did not fit. Would like to try again if I find some wool. Etsy is just so easy and there is really nice ones.

definitely waiting until I find out the sex. If it's a girl, I will do one size - either Fuzzi Bunz or Bum Genius. If it's a boy I'll need sized dipes...

and of course I'll get something extra special for NB. For Bobert, I had a shamrock AI2 made because he was due on St Patty's Day. I took his announcement pic in it.

Question, then I'll post some pictures of our stash. Although, I just got 4 new ones! :)

So are these rash creams/ointments ones that you can use with CDs? Do you use a liner still? Grace gets the occassional rash and we just have the regular Desitin so I use the sposies that we have (got for free). If you do use a liner... what kind of fabric do you use?

OK... some recent pictures of our stash (minus the 4 new ones)

In this stash: ~18 CPF, ~4 Thirsties Wraps or DuoWrap, & OS Pockets: 3 Zinnia BG 3.0, Pink Dots on Chocolate BlueBerry, Blue Daisy FB, 3 SmartiPants (which are for sale!), a Mamas Touch, and a Haute Pocket. (Not shown 3 new FBs, a new BG 3.0, and a Happy Heiny)

I actually made a facebook album called "The Photo Guide to Cloth Diapers" for my friends and fam that think I'm crazy. It turned out super cute! :)

I have used rash creams with CPF's without a liner. I haven't seen any problem with my dipes from doing so. However, I don't use the cream with my pocket dipes. The most that I'll use with those is a bit of coconut oil or a dusting of arrowroot powder. (I use that in place of cornstarch or talc for baby powder)

Beautiful stash Michelle! I love to see the individuality reflected in each of our stashes. You really have some beautiful diapers and I love your storage containers. Very classy!

That's neat that you started an FB album. I have to kind of chuckle at people who think that we're crazy, I mean, how did people survive before disposables were invented? ;)

Thank you Rach [thankssign]

I do need the next size up of prefold. I just had not decided if I wanted something easier to put on for this stage as I am sure he will be on the move in the next short while. :-D I have still been laying the smalls in a cover for now and bought a few fitteds and Apple cheeks. I think I will still buy some. I like them just as much as the fitteds and they sure are loads cheaper.

Hey kids-
I have two in diapers and have about 12 bg one-size - green, yellow, blue.
6 haute pocket one-size, 10 kawaii one-size and some misc homemade fitteds. I also have some whammies one-size- but am trying to get rid of them.

I am having os issues with baby and am contemplating getting rid of one-size and going to sized aoi's or bamboo fitteds. Does bamboo "feel wet"? Easy to work with?

We have this bamboo fitted

Man it is so so soft and fits really nice, it does feel wet still. One of my favorite dipes though. I just ordered some bamboo inserts excited to get them and see how they work.

Thanks Ruth! My stash is always changing as I'm still trying to work out what works best for us. Luckily there is a cloth nappy forum in the UK where I can buy and sell my nappies so I get them cheaper. It's probably just like diaperswappers but in the UK.
