My temp spiked .5 on one bbt, and .3 on the older one (usually I have a slow rise). It's in my post-O temp range now. Should get up to 98.x later this week. Dec 14/cd 15 Ovulation. Best egg ever + best seed, considering hubby has been taking his vitamins for months now, incl. those helpful for his count... for the first time. Most prayer ever... my edd would be Monday, September 6, 2010.

I hope I can get into the Dr. again just before New Years, but... iffy... I should call today and see if he'll be in. If this cycle doesn't work out I may have to wait a cycle before trying again-- if he takes a long christmas vakay.

I feel so dumb, I have 5 refills on this clomid prescription, so... round 2 straight away if this is a negative. But I called the obgyn and then the pharmacy to find this out.... so REP:5 really does mean 5 refills (I guess) ;). And I can't find hubby's analysis instructions... need to get that taken care of since I'll probably be into the obgyn next month anyway. I'd like to know how he's doing whether we're preggo first go or not.

Yesterdays spike may have been a fluke, because today my temp plummeted well below previous temps. I am very borderline as far as that positive OPK still being valid, and know a sudden drop can be O day. So maybe yesterday was a fluke and today is O.. bd anyway.
Guess I really should wait for 3 days of high temps before starting a 2ww thread ;)
I won't really be able to test before Christmas either way. It'll be New Year's news.

Ren
12-16-2009, 11:12 PM
Rachel sometimes some women can get a dip after the rise and it will bounce back up right after and the first rise is the one that counts. . .Just to encouarge. . .maybe you work a little different on clomid???? I will ball like a baby when you say your preggers. . .that's why I'm trying to control my excitement cause I don't want to over do it for you if it doesn't work out this cycle.. . I'm hoping for the 6th- that's branodn's b-day (and davidsmom's baby daniel too=)- good day;) I would love to be celebrating bran's third and praying for you baby's birth!! Ok calming down.. . praying.

12-17-2009, 09:58 AM
Maybe, I hope. I went up .5 this morning (just below what I thought was the initial spike). It rose kind of fast because I tested middle of the night because I woke, it was still very low, but it rose after I went back to sleep. I've checked that before, my temp every few hours in the morning, and I don't rise fast normally. So maybe the progesterone is kicking in now... ugh.. but I need it a little higher... like another .5. Guess I'll know by Sunday if it already occurred. Tomorrow (I think) is the last day that if I've O'd, it was the Clomid working. Just starring at the + OPK wondering what went wrong.. if it was a false positive. Something wrong with my.. fsh hormone is it? I don't look forward to a bunch of tests but maybe it'll take that.

rachel
12-17-2009, 11:25 AM
"The theory of fallback rise is that the estrogen level is still dropping after the LH level has dropped, and the progesterone levels have not risen high enough to push the temperatre up."

Easily, I suppose.. considering I must have had double the estrogen if the Clomid worked. Guess I'll know soon enough! Possibly won't be able to know if I O'd on day 15 or 17, but it would have had to be one of those if my temps stay up this time.

Won't be testing til New Years...

I am curious...is your doc checking your progesterone level after a confirmed O? Are they doing any other tests during your cycle or just letting you have a go at clomid, progesterone supps and see what happens? Also, when did you start the progesterone? I have low progesterone and have had to take vag suppositories for two of my pregnancies and I never started taking it until two days AFTER my temp spike.

I'm just curious as to what your doc is having you do. There are many different ways doctors do or do not monitor a clomid cycle. I just wondered what your plan is.

I never had the ultrasound to check folicle size. I never had a trigger shot to induce ovulation, but I did have my progesterone levels checked after confirmed O a few cycles before I started progesterone. I was on 50mg when I got pg with Em and my progesterone that cycle was at about 60 (no need for progesterone there!). When I went on clomid to get pg with Mak, I started at 50mg and my progesterone level that cycle was around 6 (that is too low to support a pg). That is when we upped the clomid to 100mg and put me on progesterone.

I hope and pray you get your BFP soon! You are on the same time frame as I was with Em and Mak. I got pg with both in Dec. Em was the first part of Dec. She was due Aug. 25th, came Sept. 1st, and Mak was due Sept. 16th, came Sept. 11th. This is an awesome time to be pg, and Sept is a great time to have a newborn....you will like it!

Blessings dear sister!

He's only having me chart this cycle. I guess because my LP has always been solid? I've been taking all the vitamins and minerals etc. anyway, that are supposed to naturally help progesterone levels.

My bbt temp is 97.9 now, just .1 from that 98 I'd love to see, but it's still a high post-O temp for me. I don't know why I'm still so hesitant to believe the clomid worked? I just want to see that 98!! and a bfp:)

buttercup_97140
12-19-2009, 01:26 PM
I so hope this round works for you! I would encourage you to ask for a progesterone level, that way you can up your clomid if your progesterone level is low. Sometimes it takes a while to get the right dosage for your body to work correctly.

I had my levels checked during one cycle, but the doc was on vacation when the results came in and I ended up starting another cycle at the same dose because he was still on vacation when the new cycle started. Come to find out my progesterone was so low the second cycle was a waste because my progesterone level was too low to support a pregnancy. I ended up hoping on a cycle that never would have worked because I didn't know what my progesterone level was. After we found that out, we upped the clomid and then introduced progesterone post ovulation....low and behold....Makelah! :-D

I am praying for you this cycle...having hope is so exciting! Remember...dollar tree tests are awesome if you have a pee on a stick obsession....lol! (both Noah and Mak are dollar tree test babies! heehee)

Remember to rest in Him...for your womb will only open by His hand! I am praying with and for you sweet sister!

Blessings,
Amber

I'm 8dpo today and my temps went from there typical steady climb to my normal 97.9,98.0... to an above normal.. a 98.4 today, .4 spike, so possibly start of a triphasic chart... doesn't necessarily mean anything, but does occur more often after implantation. And yes, I am slowly being driven insane. Also having some breast tenderness. But I may just be wired hormonally because of the Clomid. At least we're in the 1ww now.

It looks like Af started today......I want to encourage you because I know the expectation that comes with starting clomid. I always hoped and prayed that it would work the first time. The Lord had other plans, and I had to be patient and wait 3 cycles of clomid for Em, and 4 clomid cycles for Mak. They are here, they are beautiful, and they were totally worth the wait!

Just because it didn't work the first time doesn't mean it won't work. I would encourage you to do some research on the days to take the clomid...I always took it either 2-6 or 3-7. I found that most research shows a higher success rate the earlier you take the meds. My doc usually said to take it 5-9 but after doing my own research, I switched days. When I went to a new doc for the clomid that ended up in Mak I told the doc what days I wanted to take it and he agreed.

I hope you are doing well and are not too discouraged!

I have to be 14 dpo, at least. I'll test again tomorrow morning. Didn't this morning, because my temp is down .1 (still triphasic though) and it still feels like AF is coming.

This happened once before with a confirmed O, a december I can recall... ended up having a 14-15 day LP. 2-3 days late! And then poof, AF came with a vengeance. I always wondered if the extra few days that month meant we were close but it didn't stick. This time I'll just blame it on the Clomid if Af decides to show late.

I'm with Ruth! I hope AF does not show up and the BFN's are "just flukes"! Either way... still praying for you.

I would love to be shocked with a late +, but after literally hundreds of BFNS I can't even picture it right now.

What Ruth said! With all 3 of my babies I didn't get a BFP until I was 5 days late. I would get BFN's until then. I think my hormone levels didn't go up enough until then. And with Micah I remember the day my period was due that I felt like AF was coming and I was bummed bcuz I was sure she was on her way and I kept getting BFN's too. Then day 5 sure enough got that BFP. Praying for you Rachel!

It must be so hard, Rachel... one of those, "I'll believe it when I see it..." feelings. Hoping for a surprise announcement soon that instead of AF, you got the BFP!

I'm with the others, dear lil sister. With my first two kids, I was absolutely sure AF was coming, I felt so crampy and PMS'y. I 'learned' after two pregnancies that (as Jen said) PMS and early pregnancy are almost identical. Frustrating. :???:

WHEN you do get your BFP, hon, DO talk to your doc about your progesterone levels. DON'T think your doc will mention it without you saying something. Mine didn't think of checking my progesterone until after I had FOUR totally preventable miscarriages. Low progesterone levels will cause your BFP to show up a little late, too.

Rach, are you taking progesterone during the 2ww? If you are, are you supposed to keep taking it until AF gets here (or BFP :-P), or are you supposed to stop it after Day__? Just curious...

rachel

Not taking any creams or anything, but my temps are much higher than normal and I'm what would normally be almost 3 days late now (at least) so it would seem Clomid raised my progesterone too?

Well... not to give you false hope or anything... but my temp did go below my coverline with Wyatt... so that doesn't mean much. :-/ BUT, I'm praying that you get a BFP soon gal! My biggest biggest hugs to you~

Yeah it could be nothing. Usually I don't even have my temp go down until Af is here. Nothing usual about this cycle.

AF is here, I've known for an hour or so--unmistakable cramps. But yeah, she's finally showing. So, 16 day LP on clomid. On to round 2...

Prayers about the sperm test? Hope to turn in a sample next week. Not sure how long it'll take to find out the results.

I am praising the Lord that the clomid did do positive things even though you did not get a BFP. The Lord seems to be allowing changes in your womb, and I pray He is preparing it to open for your sweet little blessing! I encourage you to keep positive. Clomid can be slow going. I also encourage you to ask for a post-o progesterone level this next round. Keep strong sister! We are keeping you at the feet of the Lamb! Blessings, Amber

I think I let it out emotionally a couple days ago due to bfns, so I'm feeling normal today. More cramps than usual, but the worst seems to be over. Going to pharmacy tomorrow to get the next batch of Clom!!!

So next dose starts Wed. Ovulating somewhere around Jan 18th give or take a day. SO my next 2ww torture will be Jan 20ish-th to around Feb 6. I'll start a new thread when the nuttiness begins.

Hopefully I'll get an Appt at the end of the month and get a progesterone test from the Doc, and will not hear something totally extreme like dh is only contributing two headed floaters to this cause!

Glad to see you're keeping your sense of humour through all this! I know how important it is from personal experience... as previously posted, my dh and I joke that his men like to play Duck Duck Goose a little too much, instead of practicing their sprints... keeps everything much more positive and upbeat that way!

Here we go with the next cycle!
