I had a visit from my prospective doula yesterday and I'm so inspired to make this happen. She came all the way out to my house (50 minutes drive in -30 weather!) to meet me and talk things over. She gave me her folder of info and I can read & think it over before committing. She's 25 & has had 2 C-sections just like me and understands so much of how I feel. I felt like we'd been friends forever! She even brought her almost-4-year-old boy along because she knew I had boys! :)

She does most of her births in the hospital I plan to deliver at and she thinks I have a good chance. The only negative is that she charges $700 for her services and we don't really have the money. In Canada we don't normally have to pay for any health care so it's hard for my hubby to accept...

But he is supportive of me following my dream on this one! We had a talk about it, he was kinda upset that I was considering a doula because of the cost, but once I explained how badly I want this VBAC and shared the statistics he was completely understanding and said we would somehow make it work. I'm so thankful cuz that was my biggest hurdle... I didn't want to go against him but on the other hand I knew I needed a doula to make this VBAC happen.

So now I have to figure out how to come up with the $600 (she knocked off $100 for us!) which will be tough. We just got our $1500 tuition bill from Blake's school & we have an unpaid van repair bill... guess we'll just keep praying... could you guys join us?!!

I'll sure be praying Margi! I know how badly you want this VBAC! I pray that God blesses you guys with the money, and with the vag birth you're dreaming of! ::hugs:: gal!

I'll be praying too! I had a doula for my first VBAC and I don't regret it at all! She was such a support. Praying God provides for the doula and that you get your desired VBAC!
