MY 23 MO HAD A COLD BACK IN NOV. SHE SLEPT WITH US BECAUSE SHE WAS CONSTANTLY WAKING UP BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T BREATHE. NOW I HAVE CREATED A TERRIBLE HABIT. SHE WAKES UP EVERY NIGHT (ANYWHERE FROM 11 - 5) WANTING MILK AND TO GET IN MY BED. IT IS SO HARD TO SLEEP WITH HER BECAUSE I HAVE NO ROOM AND SHE IS RIGHT UP UNDER ME. I DO NOT LIKE TO LET HER CRY IT OUT BUT I AM ABOUT TO GO NUTS! HER ONLY SPECIAL THINGS ARE HER PACIS, NO BLANKET OR STUFFED ANIMAL. I'VE TRIED THAT. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET HER TO SLEEP ALL NIGHT AGAIN? ALSO, SHE SLEEPS ABOUT 1- 1 1/2 HOURS LATER WHEN SHE IS WITH ME, WHICH IS VERY NICE FOR BOTH OF US. IT MAKES MY DAY GO BETTER BECAUSE SHE IS WELL RESTED. I GUESS IT IS GOOD AND BAD. HOWEVER, I WOULD LIKE TO GET HER BACK IN HER BED ALL NIGHT AGAIN.
THANKS, ANNA

Smart little girl! She knows a good sleeping arrangement when she sees one. [rofl]

My suggestion: currently you are in a family bed situation. If you want to get her to sleep on her own, then you need to formulate a plan for weaning from the family bed. I don't blame you for not wanting to let her cry it out. I can't use that with my daughter either. Fortunately you don't have to.

Dr. Sears has a book called the Baby Sleep Book, which has a whole chapter on weaning from the family bed or for moving from a crib to a toddler bed. One suggestion is that dad can put the baby to bed and snuggle next to her until she falls asleep then come back to bed.

My daughter, now 5, is always wanting to sleep on a pallot on our bedroom floor. She is in preschool, and if she is not sleeping with us, she is sleeping with her 5th grade sister. I hope she will grow out of it. We have babied her so much,(she is the only child my husband and I have tog
ether) that she is spoiled rotton!

My middle son just turned 2 on dec. 17th. If I let him, he would never leave my bed. I used to do the same thing as you; letting him stay in the bed with us because he slept longer and I didn't want to deal with him continuously waking up in the middle of the night and early in the morning. But I felt so cramped in my own bed with him there and my husband (space hog that he is). So finally, I got fed up! and I put my son in his own bed everynight. Even when my husband begged me to let him come in our bed because he was losing sleep... I stood firm and left him in his own bed. Through all of the crying and screaming (my dh included), I stood my ground. And now he sleep in his own bed through the night. Now brace yourself, because it took about a full month of this consistency to get there. Good luck... in the end it's your choice. You know your child best and can judge if they're ready or not. Good luck and God bless! :D

Awww...some nights I want to take my sleeping kids right out of their beds and bring them in ours!! They look so adorable and cuddly. IMO, enjoy it!!

I don't need any more pallot stories!!!!

However, she has slept in her bed the past 2 nights, but woke up too early and was cranky.
