Hey gals,

We need some praising and some prayers! Ellie was born yesterday on the 17th. She weighed in a nice 8lbs 6oz and was 21 inches long. Esther is doing great, but she asked me to ask all of you to prayer for Ellie. She has an infection which requires antibiotics and she is in the NICU for two days to a week. Of course this has to be a time of split emotions for Esther and her family. To be so joyful for this sweet baby girl, but to have to spend her first few days in the NICU is very hard!

Please pray for Ellie, that the infection if fought quickly and resolves quickly so she can go home. Please pray for Esther, that she is physically feeling well and isn't bothered by having to be in the NICU during her recovery. Please pray for Ellie's feeding. From working in the NICU, I know it's hard for moms who have to pump to keep their milk up. Although Esther may not have to deal with this issue, I do not know if she is able to nurse or not. (She probably can nurse, but just in case lets pray.)

"We love you Esther, we love you and your family, and we pray that the Lord bless your new little sweetheart with a healthy start!! Blessings to you all!"

I don't have a computer tomorrow, but I will try and text Esther and see how she is. I can try and post from my husband's phone. Maybe Ellie will be home and Esther can post for herself with pics!! :-D That would rock!

Thank you so much everyone for your prayers. God is so good.
Thank you Amber for posting for me!

Ellie is doing awesome. Her blood cultures came back negative for infection, but they still want to finish giving her anitbiotics so she'll be in the NICU for 4 more days. The Pediatrician thinks she had whats called lukemoid reaction. Basically the when the baby is born something trigures the bone marrow to dump a ton a of white blood cells into the blood stream. Normal is 20,00 and Ellie's was 70,000. But thankfully it's been dropping on it's one everyday!

As far as nursing goes, it's been difficult. She isn't easy to latch on because she is constantly pushing out with her tongue. Plus with my colostrum being so little she was gaining enough weight/calories so a there was some supplementing. But again God is good. I continued to try and breast feed, and she is getting a lot better, even though my nipples are some what blistered. I believe once I get her home i can BF 100%

I'm recovering nicely. actually, this is the best recovery I've ever had! I didn't hardly bleed and am still bleeding very little. I don't have much swelling and my uterus is contracting nicely. I bleive God knew what was going to take place so He allowed me the strength to take care of my little Ellie Bear.

The hard part is leaving Abby and josiah. They have been with my In-Laws for 3 days now and this is the first time I've been home. Abby is having a hard time dealing with not seeing much of me and not getting to see her little sister. And I'm struggling with it as well.

That's all i have time for right now, I need to go to sleep so i can wake in a few hours to drive back to the hospital for feeding.
Love you guys. Thank you!

Congrats Esther!! I am so happy that things are improving so well and that Ellie is doing better on her own. I hope and pray that she is home with you before those 4 days. But God is in control and taking care of every little detail! Keep up the great work mama! I know you must be exhausted and drained from all the back and forth and other two kiddos. I'll be praying that the Lord gives you even more strength and energy as you go through this time of transition as a family. Much love to you and your sweet little Ellie! :D
