So... right from the get go my midwife's office and I have disagreed on how far along I am. By my CHART, when I ovulated and when I estimate fertilization took place and such... I'm two weeks ahead. NOW, I'm MEASURING on *MY* dates... which date would you use?

I mean... I know this is all estimations anyway... so it *really* doesn't matter... but I'm just curious... would you continue to go off your own dates or what your doctor/midwife says off their little spiny-wheely-thingy that just seems *OH-SO-ACCURATE* to me. ::snort:: hehehehe

Anywho... I'm thinking about changing my ticker... and was curious about your thoughts on dates/charting and such. Thanks in advance for your opinion~

I'd go by my own calculations. :)
But if you're one to get hung up on numbers later in the game, stick with the one that makes ya feel better. LOL

Personally, I like date *ranges* ;) Giving a month of cushion. *nods head*

Yeah... I like using my own dates... because I'm *charting* and I *know* when I ovulated... I'm not just going off some blind LMP date. Oy. But, as far as "getting things moving"... I've learned that it doesn't matter what old wive's tale or whatnot you try... that baby is coming when *IT* is ready. ::rolls eyes just thinking about me having tried every trick in the book- eggplant parmesan, castor oil and such:: So... I don't get too hung up on it in the end... with Eliya, it was the midwife saying, "You're 40 weeks, we need to schedule an induction-" Oy. I was willing to go as long as she needed... even though I was excited to have her out.

If I were you I'd go by your dates, especially since you are measuring right on with them. :) I know when we conceived, I was there, the doc was not LOL ;) I let him put that little date on my chart but ultimately I have the say in when I'm "overdue" and if/when something needs to be done so it doesn't really matter, we know way better than any spinney wheel haha!

Those wheely thingys are based on a 28-day cycle, so if you have longer or shorter cycles then you can throw the wheel in the trash can;) When I got pg with Lydia, I knew I o'd 2 weeks late. so at my first MW appt I told her I o'd 2weeks late, had she had gone by my LMP it would have put my Due date 2 weeks earlier when in reality my cycle was much longer than 28days. So I say go by your chart, those wheely thingys basically throw every woman into the same cycle pot, and we all know that every womans cycle is different:-D

Well, shoot girls... I just hunted down my chart on Fertility Friend... and I cannot see how I got the first guess of Late January as my due date. I *know* that when I FIRST got my + that I had it all figured up... and it was late Jan... but looking at the chart *now*, I just don't see it. Everything points to the first week of Feb. I don't get it maaaan.... and here I thought I was all hot stuff cause I just "knew" I was right. ::rolls eyes:: [whatthink]

I chart, but I go by my LMP. It really doesn't make a difference to me, because like you said, when they're ready to come they'll come!

Charting, all the way!

If you went by my LMP, Micah was almost 2 weeks overdue. By my chart he was right on time. (Born at 40w1d) If you went by my LMP, Hannah was 3 weeks overdue. By my chart she came 12 days overdue. (Born at 41w5d)

It does make a difference in having an accurate due date, especially if your care provider would want to induce you if you were overdue.

I charted but was also very regular (O on day 14 with all four-28 day cycle). My doctor, the smart man that he is, asked for my chart to come up with my due date. [OKOK]

I new when we concieved esp. with #1 and being a zookeeper at the time charted it myself (with my co-workers) and it was dead on! We were late by the docs dates. One of my co-workers even prodicted the day and exact time I went into labor! lol

With all of ours I new the day of the deed, so to speak, and I just added 2 days to that and went by day of conception. Testing 10 days after that date and always got that positive. So, then I just took the BD date and counted back 14 days and that's what I told them was my LMP. That way, they get what they want, I get what I want, and we're all happy, LOL. Dates usually match up that way

My midwife and doc said...if the ultrasound dates are more than a week off, change to the ultrasound date, if there is only a day or so difference, go with the original, a few days do not make much difference.

I charted because we were on clomid or knew the day we DTD that we conceived so my dates were based on that. It was super important for us with Noah to know the dates because they wanted to induce him, and I was going to push it out as late as possible. With Mak, I was ready for her to come...NOW so I'm glad we knew that she was as far along as she was because she came a little early.
