View Full Version : Did anyone Record the Birth
krazee4jc 10-25-2009, 02:53 AM I did my last only because the other kids we not old enough to be in the birthing room. It was pretty neat, everyone watch the video. Rebekah came out in her water bag. AMAZING!
Rachel, was thinking of recording it but I don't want to be the one to record :???:
Tammyn4As 10-25-2009, 11:47 AM I was going to record the last one since it was the last but the hospital had changed their policy and we weren't allowed to film it!
buttercup_97140 10-25-2009, 12:24 PM We never video taped our births, but both Em's and Noah's birth were documented on film. Noah's birth was almost video because the pictures were almost moment by moment, but Dh didn't want any video....(he didn't want to be on it...so silly!!)
You could always set up a tripod and just have a wide shot of the birth area, so it's recorded, but no one is having to do the filming!
Blessings,
Amber
krazee4jc 10-25-2009, 02:35 PM Tammy, I'm gonna ask the hospital about this [whatsmack]
Amber, nice idea if it's okay with the hospital [cheerful]
savedbygrace 10-25-2009, 04:54 PM I recorded both Abby's and josiah's and I will be recording this one as well.
Abby loves to watch the video's and when I had josiah, Abby was right there next to the midwife. She never once got scared or squimish and I think it's because she watched her own birthing video so many times.
krazee4jc 10-25-2009, 07:43 PM That's so neat!! Esther, my kids love to watch the video too. Everytime we watch it it's just so amazing! It's a neat thing to do
I video taped Emma's birth, or rather, had my sister do it, and I think I only watched it a couple times after that... but my situation is a bit different... as Emma's "dad" is not the man I married- Anywho. The twins' birth was recorded a bit, but mostly photographed, Helen's was only photographed, and Eliya's also was only photographed... but my favorite picture out of all that is this picture of me laboring on my knees, when I was about to have Eliya... she took soooooooooo much work, and that picture really summed it up for me. So... I would trade ALL the other videos and photos for another *one good photo* like that. It really means and says a lot to me~ :)
Katielady 10-26-2009, 03:05 PM I'm the oddball here I suppose...but ewww GROSS!!
Lol.
The whole picture of labor ugh...I don't want to see it, hate that I experienced it and certainly did not and still would not want pictures or video from it.
I have before as in pregnancie photos and photos after I gave birth holding both my kiddos, but nope...none taken in l&d.
Again..I'm odd. But ewwww!!!!
(btw...I am not squemish...I just don't think it's a beautiful thing to watch. Just disgusting to me. But that's just it - it's ME! LOl!)
Katie, you're so funny~ It's okay to not like that sort of thing~ Everyone's different~ :)
krazee4jc 10-27-2009, 01:27 AM Jen, I have a few pictures duing labor but not anything I really share as beautiful :-D
Katie, yeah...lots more after birth with baby & family but the next day not day of...nice photos
Seriously, if my kiddos would have been able to be in the room I wouldn't even have the video or photos...I DID IT FOR THEM [lovesmile]
JoyLynn 10-27-2009, 01:36 AM I do have video of each of our kids' births, though ours were C-sections. The kids each have a video of their lives, and each begins with their birth. Not the whole thing. Just the highlights. And, yes, the kids DO love watching the videos!! And my wedding video, too, while we're on the subject. heehee!
I'm a little bit with Katie on some of the birthing video stuff, though. I don't need to 'see' it all, either. teehee! [whatblah] I'm all for tasteful, modest footage, though. [thumbsup]
I have a friend who's hubby, umm... got right up there with the camera, and we got to see her... errrr... well... poop. Eww! LOL! [rotfl]

krazee4jc 10-27-2009, 01:41 AM Joy...that's a fear Rachel has MOM, WHAT IF I YOU KNOW....POOOP!!!
I'm like it's okay people do, I didn't with any of mine
JoyLynn 10-27-2009, 01:44 AM I know, it's so common! heehee! But, if she has the baby in the hospital, the nurses clean it up before the mom even notices most of the time. She has nothing to worry about, as long as no one is there to catch it with a camera! LOL!! [rotfl]
[lovesign]
