Stripped Membranes...How long til' delivered?

Anyone else had their membranes stripped? They did mine this morning and I immediatly got contractions, but they sent me home til' things got worse (I'm 38.5 weeks now)....they said it usually starts soon though and to walk and have a lot of intercourse...........
How long did it take before labor began for you?
Any other ideas to get things going after they were stripped?

I SOOOOO don't want to have a Christmas baby! I'm praying I go before then....I have a two year old who is SO psyched for Christmas for the first time and I don't want to miss it or take anything away from it for him.......

It never worked with my first... But with my second I had them stripped then went hone and "utilized" dh and I was in full blown labor within an hour....

My dr. tried to strip mine with my first baby and I came up off the table at him! OUCH--it hurt!

I had my membranes stripped at 40w4d and then went home and Bd, I started early labor around noon at 40w6d. My midwife said I really had no adhesions to "strip" since I was overdue, but it seem to have done something, I think!

I pray for your baby to come soon...just remember that you are still a little early, and stripping of the membranes usually works best when baby is already geared up to come, so if your little one is too comfy, it could be a while!

I am ready to come....the baby has dropped so low in the birth canal he's locked and with the pressure I can hardly walk or sit. I'm 4+ cm and 80% effaced....very soft and ripe and have been contracting for over a week now with solid and painful contractions. This is baby number two for me in two and a half year time period.......
I have had constant contractions since they did it....painful real ones! I went in yesterday and they sent me home though to get farther along. They come every 3 to 5 minutes and are body doubling painful (no walking, talking ,breathing possible) but they are very short, so they're not doing anything really to continue changing the cervix.......ergh! :roll:
My hubby says that this little guy may be a little more like me...with a stubborn streak! Geeze! :lol:

I had my membranes stripped and I didn't go until a week later!!! After the first three days of not having my baby, I drank about four ounces of Castor Oil, spent some time getting to know my bathroom better and then my water broke....

Now I know that my water just BREAKS at 37 weeks on the dot... period... Every time...

It was 2 weeks after the membrane stripping that I went into labor :? But the signs sound like it could happen soon for you! Praying for a nice labor for you!

I had my membranes stripped 3 times with DD, and still ended being induced 2 weeks later.

I think it's a very individual thing- for some people it makes them go into labor right away.
