View Full Version : why can't we name this kid?
kanaclark 09-30-2009, 03:59 PM everyone we know that is expecting has their name(s) picked out. If baby is a girl, she is named. If baby is a boy, he will be "Baby No-Name Clark". How flippin hard is it to come up with a name we both agree on? It was NOT this hard with the other guys. We HAD them from day one.
Everything I say, he comes back with something.
Michael "Jackson", Boyd "bears", Adam "and eve", Noah "flood", James "my step dad", Christopher "nephew", you get the idea (his responses are in "")
The cutest one of all, though, was when I suggested Braxton. I'll give you one guess what his response was. YEP! Hicks. LOL. Said he'll always think of the ten day stretch of BH I had with Bri when he hears that name.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Okay, thank you. I feel better now. Well, not really, but I think I should, LOL
Was it this hard for any of you gals?
This baby is due tomorrow and we are still not completely set on names:roll: So yes, it's been hard this go round for us. And my dh is exactly like Brian, he always has some funny comment to come back with regarding a name I've suggested. Hopefully when this kid is born he/she will have a name...LOL.
And I hope you guys can figure something out soon:-D
Yes. When I was preggers with Callum we could NOT agree on anything. In fact, we agreed on a name 5 hours before he was born, while I was in early labour. Not that I recommend waiting that long, but you'll work out a name.
With my other two, it worked out that whatever name took more work to come up with, we didn't have that gender. So maybe you'll get your girl??
~Tara~ 09-30-2009, 04:21 PM My girl wasn't settled until she was in my arms. The last two didn't have names until HOURS after they were born. I was just waiting for the right one to strike me. I had hubby giving me greek roots for words I liked, then I would fashion that into a name or something like that.
Don't sweat it girl!
I know it's fun thinking of names and all, but don't sweat this. The kid will have a name. (eventually :p )
kanaclark 09-30-2009, 04:22 PM I kept talking boy names last night, and Brian keeps telling me we don't need it, not to worry, he thinks girl. I think girl, my mom, his step mom, so many people think girl, BUT I'm just so scared we're gonna get in there for that ultrasound IN 16 DAYS and find a penis. Crazy, huh?
Eva, you still ain't had that baby yet?
kanaclark 09-30-2009, 04:23 PM (eventually :p )
Eventually, that's the key word!
BUT I'm just so scared we're gonna get in there for that ultrasound IN 16 DAYS and find a penis. Crazy, huh?
[rofl] Well, they can be scary organs[rotfl]
Eva, you still ain't had that baby yet
Nope still no baby  BH's for over a month now, period type feelings for the past few days, even had BH's last night that felt like the real thing as they were sending waves into my back that were slightly painful. And yet this baby is just chillin' in the womb, taking it's precious time to come and meet us.
kanaclark 09-30-2009, 04:30 PM hopefully, soon!
savedbygrace 09-30-2009, 04:35 PM You have plenty of time, and maybe seeing a penis (or not) might help you decide.
I know it helped me. This time around it was difficult to choose a girls name. Which is kind of odd, being that I have favorite names since I was a little girl, and I have yet to name any of my kids those names. :scratch head, and shrug shoulders:
kanaclark 09-30-2009, 04:39 PM me, too, Esther. I always wanted to name one of my sons after my grandfather. His name was Olin Clark Jones. I wanted to name a son Jonathan Clark, unfortanately, Brian doesn't like Jonathan, and Clark is our last name, so guess they all got Grandpa's name, sorta, LOL
As for girls, never had one I liked, so it was fine, but Brian has named all of our children. I'm honestly good mind to tell him that if this one is a boy, I'M NAMING HIM and he'll love him regardless. I think that's nice, LOL.
BlessedMommy 09-30-2009, 05:23 PM My suggestion is don't worry about it until after the ultrasound. :) Then if it's a boy, you can cross that bridge when you come to it.
Jessy 09-30-2009, 07:35 PM We can't settle on a name this time either  With Payton we had ideas but it wasn't 'official' until we saw him so I'm not to worried.
Awww.... I'm sorry gal~ :) I hope you can come up with something so you can have that *done* in your mind~ I'm sure you guys will find something you both like~
Cheryl 09-30-2009, 09:34 PM We had one of each. With my DS, we had the names picked out a couple months in advance (we needed both a boy and girl name since we didn't find out ahead of time.)
With DD, we had a boy name picked out, but could NOT pick out a girl name at all. We didn't decide till the day we left the hospital with her! Poor baby went to sleep on her birth day as "Baby F....."
PianoMama 09-30-2009, 10:06 PM wow ~ my dh wouldn't even talk about names until the pregnancy was at least half over! but I agree...wait your 2.5 weeks and that'll narrow it down a bit. :-)
krazee4jc 10-07-2009, 12:11 AM Thank God DH & I didn't have any issues. We didn't talk names til' the 5th month and agreed by the 7th  GOOD LUCK, praying the right one comes to you both [crossheld]
