How big of a pot belly is normal in a toddler? I know that the toddler's body is shaped with a pot like belly, but how do I know if my DD has a regular belly or if it's too big?
I'm not too worried, but sometimes I think she looks way more bloated than others even though she has been having regular BMs. I just picture those babies in 3rd world countries wherer their bellies get all bloated because they are starving, and it causes their liver to swell....so when I see DD's belly I wonder if it's normal or bigger than it should be.

Is it dumb to think about this?

Anything that mother notices is worth checking out. God has given us a wisdom regarding our children. I would ask the doc. But if she seems to be eating well, having normal BM's urinating normally and acting like her self, you are probably okay, just to put you at ease. :D

I wonder the same thing. However, when i take my dd to the peds they say everything is great with her. So i think that belly is just normal.

I think it depends on how your kiddo stands too. My ds had one but dd tends to stick hers out so it looks bigger. If you're worried ask you doc. but if she seems to be healthy and not uncomfortable if you push on it gently I wouldn't worry.

Thank you all! It's good to know that I am not the only one who thinks it looks like a big belly. I was watching her tonight in her bath, and she sucks it in and out...and it doesn't seem to be tender or anything, so I would say she is normal!! :D

How weird is that, I was only looking at DS tummy tonight and thinking "pot belly" I thought for a minute "Is he over eating" and then quickly checked that off, he is slim everywhere else and most of his diet consists of wholemeal bread and fruit... so it's just the way they are shaped me thinks
