We just bought Scrabble Slam. Like Scrabble, but, a card game. Fast paced, challenges spelling, good clean fun!
For $5 my fam spent SEVERAL hours together yesterday
It's rated for 8 and up. My 8 (in Aug) kid did alright..was sometimes frustrated because he couldn't go as fast as us, but he didn't do too badly.
However the non-spelling 5 yr old was just beside herself that she couldn't participate. Parents and eldest brother took turns 'helping' her and the 3 yr old for a few rounds.
We had a BLAST!
The gist:
someone thinks of a 4 letter word, you place those cards on the table, deal out the remaining cards then...hold onto your hats...cuz it flies by after that. Everyone slapping down one card at a time to change the word on the game table into a new word. There's no taking turns or anything. It's a free for all.
Fun stuff! Go get it!
