Ok, I saw my doc on Friday and she told me that once my LH showed a peak reading on my FM, I should BD every OTHER day for a week starting on the day of my LH Peak. HUH? Wait a minute... I thought I was to BD EVERY day for the few days preceding my LH peak and the day OF my peak. She then informed me that I don't ovulate until AFTER my LH peak. She also said that sperm has to replenish otherwise he will "shoot blanks". My new OB/GYN is a fertility "specialist" so I would think she knows best...right??? Dang, if this is all true...I sure have been going at this all wrong. Oi!
Honestly, there seems to be SO many opinions on this... no wonder ttc is so doggon frustrating.

What do you think?

I heard from two different friends working with two different fertility specialists (in Seattle) to BD every 36 hours (for the same reasons), which is what we did with all four of ours . I conceived first cycle with all of them. [OKOK]

That would be correct. "The high levels of estrogen will trigger an abrupt surge of Luteinizing Protein (LH). It's this LH surge that causes the egg to burst through the ovarian wall, usually within a day or so of occurrence." -TCOYF . Ovulation follows the peak. Of course it doesn't hurt to start BDing before as sperm in fertile CF will continue to live up to 5 days. [OKOK]

Yeah, that's right, Sarah! We always started a week early, just to have some lil' guys waiting up there, ready to greet lil' eggie (especially if she decided to make a surprise early appearance). :mrgreen:

I temped, but didn't really go with my temp as to see if I O. I get confused with the whole LP. Anyways we would bed every other day when my CM changed to fertile. When we were really ttc we would bed every other day the week before my suspected O through O and then about a week after. when we did that pattern, the next month we conceived both kiddies....yes my hubby was VERY happy[halo]

Whenever my hubby and I are trying to get pregnant, we do the every other day thing. It's worked three times now and quickly! BUT of course it's not as simple as that.... obviously our bodies are complicated!
