The number one way to grow in your new relationship with Christ is through prayerful reading and studying of God's Word. There is no greater treasure than those 66 books, and many of us (me too) can say that reading the Bible is what has changed us (for the better) more than anything on the face of the earth. Get to know the One who sent His only Son to die for whosoever would come to Him.
Here are some bible reading plans, and if you need encouragement or help feel free to post here about it. If there's a member here that you know well, or just feel drawn to, then send a message and ask that person to be an accountability partner. Let's encourage each other and grow together.

My personal suggestion would be to begin in Matthew and read right on through Revelation, then turn to Genesis and keep on going!
God bless you all on your new life in Christ.

Some scriptures:
"Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord." 1 Peter 2:2-3
"Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen."2 Peter 3:18
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth."
2 Timothy 2:15
"Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress will be evident to all." 1 Timothy 4:15
"Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God." Hebrews 6:1
Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. "For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 1:5-8
"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God."
Ephesians 3:14-19
"For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience." Colossians 1:9-11
"Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God." Colossians 3:16
"We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:16
"The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon." Psalm 92:12
"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ."
Philippians 1:6, 9, 10
"As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ."
Ephesians 4:14-15

These are great resources and suggestions. Always start and finish with your Bible!
Six years into my Christian walk I began a relationship with a Christian mentor - a mature Christian woman who understood the background I came from. I still meet with her (by phone since I moved away) regularly and by email too. She is always there for me and is a great leader and guide for me. She also serves on my business advisory board.
A mentor is a real blessing!!

Absolutely - teaching someone else is reinforcing.
If God has called you to it and has prepared you enough so you are mature enough to mentor another without causing them to stumble in their faith then I think it is a great idea - that is a great suggestion.
God has been slowly releasing me in different areas to do this - mentoring others in running a business from a biblical perspective and with others who have some occult ideologies intermingled with their relationship with Christ that is creating issues in the spirit realm and footholds etc that is hindering them. I have personal experience in this area and God has been using it to work with others in similar situations.
It has been a slow road LOL but amazing! I love your suggestion about an accountability partner - small groups or a really close believer is imperative.
